Raptors' pick

Hey Thunder fans.

I'm curious about what players the Thunder will likely be looking at selecting with the Raptors' pick, which will probably be in the 8-11 range. Has there been much discussion about it in these parts?

Probably take one of the white centers and then never play him and eventually trade him

BPA. The Thunder really don't have any holes.

Perkins/ Thabeet
Ibaka/ Collison
Durant/ PJ3
Thabo/ Lamb
Westbrook/ Jackson

With Orton and Liggins on the roster as well, the Thunder have no NEED for anything. Maybe a guy who can replace Thabo, Collison, and Perk for the future. But, they really should have taken Jeff Taylor last year. He would have been the best guy to replace Thabo.

I don't think "maybe" is the word for what the Thunder need. OKC could use a quality big out of this draft. Specifically a center. Perk's plus and numerous minuses are well documented at this point. Any center who could actually catch and finish consistently around the rim (or who doesn't take a half hour to get off the floor when he jumps) would be a tremendous upgrade and potentially put the Thunder over the top.

Thanks to tanking in the NBA that pick is only going to be 11 or 12 now. Who would have thought the Raptors would close the season out on a 5 game winning streak?

They beat 4 playoff teams in a row. the only team that wasn't trying was boston.

I didn't mean the teams the Raptors were playing were tanking, I meant the teams around them were. Portland for sure was tanking.

Center heavy draft and Len, Adams and Gobert are going to become quality starting centers in this league. Even guys like Withey and Dieng would be upgrades over Perkins.

Coin toss was done today- Raptors pick 12th, so that's almost certainly OKC's draft position.

Pick could've been anywhere from 4-14, and it ends up at 12. Yikes.

The value of the pick was always going to be determined by who Presti drafts and how the team develops the player, not where the player was drafted. In this draft there is little talent drop off between 4 and 12 and if Presti wants a player projected to go earlier than 12 he has some assets to get there.

Yep. The Raptors had no incentive to tank, so they didn't and tried hard, played well and won some games. I have no idea how Portland got the 6 pick from New Jersey. In theory they should have been trying just as hard and screwed up our draft position.
