looks like NN highlight reel. Most of the points scored by adams was because noel would help on the weak side and adams would get a drop off. the pick could have been better and i dont understand the project. OKC needs to win now.

It was the same for both guys. They only scored against each other one on one twice a piece.

Everyone wants to hate on Adams when he goes to OKC, wonderful...As for final lines for the game:
Steven Adams - 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks.
Nerlens Noel - 14 points, seven blocks and six boards.
2 yrs ago, so it means nothing, but still cool to see.

Yeah it means nothing as a comparison other than noel having a higher ceiling. Still think OKC shouldn't have chosen by necessary rather than talent in this case.

Who would you have picked then?
Steven Adams was the best prospect available and you always take those. He has the potential to become one of the better centers in the league in a couple of years and you can't pass on that in a draft like this one.
I also believe he can contribute a little bit off the bench after a few months in the D-league. He's a very strong dude who plays good D (in the post but also has the lateral quickness to stay in front of his guy on the perimeter), rebounds the ball, good man-to man and weakside shotblocker, sets good screens, makes hustle plays and has a developing jumpshot.
He's already better than guys like Thabeet and Orton and has the potential to become a monster in the future.
You don't pass up on a guy like Adams at 12. Centers are at a premium and it's been a weakness of the Thunder ever since the franchise was built.

Yeah, I don't get the people saying it was a bad pick... Who did you want to take? He was the best prospect on the board AND a center. I can understand people having a preference for this guy or that guy, but in the end they were all about the same level. Adams was clearly thought of as the best non Len/Noel Center in terms of upside and ability, every other center would have been the 'fit' guys.

I think Adams can work out, he seems to be a hard working guy with good attitude, but talent wise Im not so sure.
I would have prefered to pick Sergey Karasev. He is like a Toni Kukoc II.

Give Adams some time in the D-League and he'll flourish in years time if handled the right way, because his upside is off the charts, no joke.....

the bottom line is the thunder need help at the center position. collison is a great back-up, albeit playing a bit out of position. since we're all thunder fans here, I'm not gonna talk about kp too much, other than the thunder need an upgrade. is steve adams that guy? maybe-maybe not, but at least we know he can jump high enough to dunk. also, it's not like the thunder absolutely need 20 pts a night from the center position, but the ability to convert easy looks around the rim IN ADDITION to playing defense would be a nice change.

Exactly, and Adams has the potential to be that player. He's already go the size and strength to be a good positional defender, and I think he also already has decent defensive instincts that should only get better with experience. And he's got EXCELLENT hands and the ability to step-out and hit a 15-17 foot jumper. If he can just catch and finish a few drop-off/dump-off passes per game, he's already almost an upgrade over Kendrick "The Assist Annihilator" Perkins.
