Mid Level Exception

Do you guys think you would use your mid level exception? I know it probably puts you in luxury tax, but then do you think you would consider a Perkins amnesty? I was just curious if you think Presti would consider that especially if a guy like Monta Ellis was still there to play a sixth man role and would sign for the mid level.

No. The team might make some veteran minimum or slightly higher deals, but it has no interest in paying the luxury tax or paying Perkins to play for someone else at this point. Ellis is not a target.

It may seem like a move needs to be made, but the team is going with young players they've been developing.

Elis wont sign for the MLE. he's worth a minimum of 8m/year at least.

we could use part of it so we can sign someone over the vet min. And take us right up to the cap, not sure how much that is maybe 2.5mill? if we got rid of Orton or Liggins maybe could be slightly higher?

It'll be clear after 7/9 when the luxury cap will be announced.

This team is very young and we can use a guy like Stephen Jackson. I think he still has some game left in him. He can play D and pop the 3, and would probably sign for the vet minimum.

All basketball aside, Stephen Jackson is at least near the LAST person we'd want on our team...

Thunder aren't going into the tax this ear, because even with a higher lux line next year Thunder will surely be crossing it the next two years...and don't want to hit the big repeater tax.

he fitted on the Spurs for awhile.
If the money is right and we have a role in the rotation for him. Fine.

If we don't have a role, then we're better off with a dleague player. I guess we won't have a role that fits his needs.

Marvin Williams is available if you want him. You can drop some of your youngins. Had surgery but should be back by January. Plays D, can hit the 3, rebounds, no personality issues.
