Now if Chalky wants to let off some steam about this, I'm all for it.

This pisses me off. I'm so tired of his old washed-up butt in a Thunder jersey. Now we've got to watch Brooks trot his old ass out for 10-15 minutes a night, taking away valuable developmental time from Lamb and Reggie.

Yeah, I felt kinda bad posting it when you guys were debating in the other thread, but hell noone likes this move, but we knew it was coming. There goes playing the young guys. They should just sign him to a 5 year deal, so we don't have to do this every season.

It's more difficult to completely hate it after he actually stepped up a little after Russ was injured. More difficult, not difficult.

This is still a Scott brooks issue not a fisher issue though, if fish was played only spot minutes in blowouts or due to injuries he'd be great to have.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Yeah, my anger is a little misguided. I have no problem with Fisher being on the team for his bench and locker room presence. But Brooks will give him too many minutes and we need our young guys to get PT so they can develop. I have almost reached my breaking point with Brooks, and if he starts putting Fisher out there 12-15 minutes per game the first month or two of the season, while Lamb is getting something like 5-10, I may officially break.

I'd just prefer a new coach but, unfortunately, it's going to take a disappointing season or two for that to happen. You know, a couple of seasons in a row where we win 58+ games but get beat in the 1st or 2nd round (with a fully healthy team); but that would mean two disappointing seasons where we wasted Durant's and Westbrook's prime. I'm hoping Brooks continues to improve as a coach (because he has in some areas over the last couple of seasons) and Durant, Russ, and Serge can make up for the difference with their talent.

Yeah, I'm thinking we all feel the same way about it really. I like Fisher, and will admit he had his playoff moments, but don't trust Brooks to limit his minutes, and it probably also means a young guy gets left off the roster. You have to put alot of it on him, but some on Presti too, b/c he knows what Brooks does, and he's either gonna have to not sign Fisher or tell Brooks not to play him so much. I really want to see Reggie and Lamb get a lot of minutes, and hope this doesn't cut into them too much. If the same stuff is happening this season w/ coaching rotations, I'm flipping sides and going against Brooks then, but still holding out hope for now.

Just because a blogger in LA tweeted something that is being retweeted by local OKC bloggers doesn't mean that we have re signed Fisher.

Until Royce Young, Darnell Mayberry, or anyone with actual media credentials reports on this, then its probably not true. I haven't even heard rumors from any credible sources about this.

Meh, there's no question there's mutual interest. If it hasn't happened yet it's going to eventually.

Ya its basically local bloggers trying to "break news," by reporting something that will probably happen months before it actually does.

yea, i would be fine with it once playoff are near. let him rest before then. He's not going to affect the win/loss column in the regular season.

Reggie Jackson will now play 20 minutes a game instead of 30.
Jeremy Lamb will now play 0 minutes a game.

I am disappointed about the moves OKC has made this off-season.

Should I say, lack of moves?

That's more accurate.

Lack of moves..?... What were the possibilities for Thunder moves?

Thunder looked at and reportedly made offers to Wright and Miller. Both chose money /more years elsewhere. Thunder have little rotation minutes to offer.

Thunder got a 6.6 mill TPE..a great asset to have. Martin was as good as gone this summer ever since the trade...getting anything for him is bonus.

Signed Fisher, who doesn't need to be much more then a corner 3 guy, if Brooks is capable of that. Fish knows the system and is cheap..and a great player coach.

OKC fans don't like Fisher? I thought he did pretty well for you guys? I'm genuinely surprised.

I understand people wanting Reggie Jackson getting time though. But is there any indication that maybe Fisher is just signed to be the 3rd stringer?

It's more the 'cool' thing to do right now..hate on Fisher. Of his minutes aren't outrageous and he is used correctly..it will be a great addition. He knows the system well, he played important defense on Harden in the playoffs. And has the shot that defenses have to respect.

I would suspect Fisher is more SG / SF in small ball lineups more then PG..but depends on how the youngins develop.

I think it is more people hating that Brooks won't be able to avoid the completely inexplicable temptation to play him 15-20mpg. Fisher isn't great or anything, but he would be a fine locker room presence and servicable backup pg. My only hope for him not getting big minutes is that Reggie is undeniably ready for more. My fear is that Fisher will get a lot of the minutes KMart is vacating instead of Lamb or anyone else that could develop into a helpful piece down the road.

Fisher playing time is a heavy chop on Lamb's development and value. Fisher is ok, but Lamb was brought in as a potential starting caliber SG(I'd say more but let's not put bigger expectations). That's why we hate Fisher in OKC.

If Lamb is ready...he will play heavy min. If Lamb is not ready...he will play minimal minutes.

If Lamb isn't ready someone's going to get fired.
