Bucks/Thunder Trade

I come in peace, but wanted to know you feelings on this potential trade
Thunder get: Udoh/Neal
Bucks get: Lamb/Perkins
As a Bucks fan, I wanted Lamb on our team since the draft and believe that this could work for both teams. Bucks get their SG of the future, while the thunder get a 3 pt specialist while saving around $8 mil next season

Lamb is the future here. But, I would think Perk and Thabo are available.

i would send Neal and Udoh to OKC for Perkins and a draft pick instead to absorb his salary.

This is what I would do as well. If the Bucks didn't want this I would try to throw in one of the 2nd Rd picks.

Absolutely not to both ideas.
1. OP trade, wont happen. Lamb is in his second year and is starting to resemble guys like Ray Allen or Reggie Miller. Not saying his ceiling is as high, but its close.
2. The alternate trade. No, not now. Thabo is not available at this moment. When we have to resign Lamb in two years, sure, he will be better defensively then and we can start him. Right now, absolutely not. Lets not forget this is a guy who during our finals run was able to effectively guard..... Manu, Parker, Wade, Lebron, Kobe and Terry. Didnt shut them down, but when he was defending them none of them were able to go off

...... Hes not turning into a great pure shooter?
Have you not been paying attention to him?
He is in his second year in the NBA, shooting at a very high percentage given his age and experience. And putting up 10ppg on a contending team with a fantastic PER. His off. eff. is almost as good as Harden's and his stats reflect a second year Harden as well. Slightly less scoring but better numbers in almost every other category. Not to mention he is doing these things as a shooter, not a 70/30 driver/shooter. Flip that ratio and we have Lamb.

He's a great shooter. That's not what I'm debating. I just think comparing him to the two best 3 point shooters and HOFers is more than a bit of a stretch.

He looks nothing like a Ray Allen. Young Ray wasn't a shooter, he was everything you'd want in an offensive player. Lamb would have to improve an extraordinary amount before he has the versatility of Jesus.

I didnt say he was Ray Allen or Reggie Miller. I said he was a lesser version of them. Someone with a similar game but not the ceiling.

Um.... young Ray Allen was a pretty damn good jump shooter. I think at the age, or, comparative NBA age, Lamb is a bit better. But again, i dont think Lamb has the ceiling of Ray or Miller. I could be wrong on that but whatever, we will see. Maybe having KD, Westbrook and Fisher as your mentors will give this guy a ceiling boost that he might not have had on any other team or in any other situation.

There is no way OKC is trading Lamb not a chance.

Yeah, comparing him to a young Ray or Reggie is completely insane...

.... I can't help but notice you've
accidentally used Allen's rookie year to compare with Lamb's 2nd season, and ,
quite by mistake I'm sure, used per 36 minute stats.

Yeah, pending trades (not inluding Lamb) or a FA pickup, Lamb is the starting SG in the near future (I still have trouble with that b/c he and Reggie kill bench units). Maybe not next year, but Lamb is the perfect complement to Russ/KD. His defense has improved drastically from last year.
Point of that was yes, Lamb is not going anywhere.

In all fairness lamb only plate 130 garbage time NBA minutes last year. I know its technically his second year but I have a hard time calling this his second season when he wasn't even playing in the NBA last year.

And it didn't hurt at all!
Lamb has stepped up his defense and now the next is to bring that consistency every game!

Lol true. The biggest thing for Lamb this year was his coaches and teammates believing in him. Last year his confidence last year took a blow when he got traded than sent to d league.

Right, he went from most likely having a decent rotation spot on the Rockets to being put on the back burner to marinate for a year all right before the season.
