In a 3 team trade between the Thunder, Celtics, and Grizzlies the Thunder trade Ryan Gomes to the Celtics and trade cash considerations to the Grizzlies for a second round 2014 conditional 76'ers pick that the Grizzlies own and a second round 2017 conditional Grizzlie's pick. The Celtics additionally receive Jerryd Bayless. The Grizzlies additionally receive Courtney Lee and a 2016 second round pick from the Celtics.

My reaction... What? How! Why!?! I am impressed Presti pulled it off. I am wanting to know more about the conditionality of the picks and the money consideration amount. Otherwise trading a third string or honorary Thunder GQ man in the suit for 2 picks... Wow. Yes they are 2nd rounders with conditions, but who cares. It is the principle of the trade. As a side note the thunder now have 2 open roster spots. Meanwhile saving about million ($884,293 this season) in cap space to stay below the luxury. This means a potential lead up to a larger trade or signing a larger free agent.

I love this deal. Still do not know how Presti accomplished this deal.

We are not getting the above pick. The details are not out on the 2017 2nd rounder yet. But, again he did not bring that much in. The key was getting Gomes off the books, and Presti paid some money to do so. This deal is not as good as it looks. But, still keeps them $2.3 Million under the Lux tax.

Presti is clearly open to making a move, otherwise he wouldn't have made this deal. Shedding 1.2 off the books gives us more wiggle room to maneuver under the tax.

Thank you for the more information while I do not have access to a computer.

I still do not believe the Thunder are going to make a big move at all even in FA or trade; even with this loss to the Jazz, which should be astricted.

I don't see how this could possibly not be setting them up for at least signing a minimum PG FA. Otherwise it really just doesn't make sense. They're already under the lux cap, so there wouldn't be any motivation to get rid of Gomes, because I don't think he's been a negative influence or anything.

I haven't read the newsok article yet, but Royce at DailyThunder.com mentioned the same article and listed a few options.

Agreed, read it as well, he seems like a decent option if available. The only one I didn't like listed on DT was Gary Neal, but Miles was a good one.

We will not go after most of the players named in the DT article. First if it is going to be a player that fits our mold. Second this could be Presti setting up for the post seasons/predraft trades. Remember we have to have the best trade scenario possible b4 he accepts.

CJ is a FA after this year so it wouldn't hurt the future. CJ has already been offered a contract from Presti. Thunder will do something, even if it is bring in a few undrafted players cause they won't ride into the playoffs with only 13 on roster.

Dunleavy makes 3 million this year and next. Which puts the Thunder just under 71 mill with 13 on the books (not including Thabeets 1.25mill TO)

We would have send Gomes+ Thabeet for Dunleavy if Chicago/Presti wanted it earlier. Now i guess it won't work since if we traded for a min salary contract we got to wait a while before we can retrade him and we can't sign a min salary guy to trade him. Unless one of our unwanted rights want some cash and is unemployed now.
