Kevin Durant - Rise of a Legend

Post#1 » by Venomenon » Tue Feb 4, 2014 7:46 pm

This is my newest mix. I think it is my best one ever. I am a Laker fan but I have a great respect for KDs game especially the way he has been playing lately. Please comment any and all views and feedback are appreciated. Thanks and enjoy!

Not sure I can agree with something that has Stephen A's voice in the middle of it. Especially if the rest of the video isn't making fun of how dumb he is. :)

I am a general fan, but think KD's latest run is insane. This might sound dumb but I just found out that he is 6'11" with shoes....

I mean they sit there and talk about how for a big guy Lebron can do many things, yet Durant is taller, yet isn't seen in that same aspect.

I know it is more amazing because I have watched KD countless times, but I always thought he was like 6'7" tops. I mean he doesn't play like a near 7 footer. James yea has talent, whether he himself had better stats, bottom line he isn't winning games like last year. KD has 1 up on him this year!

I admire KD, and would celebrate if he becomes the new #1. I have a soft spot for guys who are #2. I am always telling people that KD is the new Karl Malone in the league, both infamous #2's to more popular athletes, aka LeBron and Jordan.

Lebron is 6'9''-6'10''ish with shoes on and is about 30 pounds heavier than KD while being faster and having better court vision and defense. KD is a great player but don't disrespect Lebron. They're both physical freaks but even Durant cannot compare to Lebron's package.

You a big fan of his package? :)

On a more serious note... It's really what you're looking at. In the right light either one is not even close to measuring up to the other. I'm not much of a LeBron fan, but he's got the body of Karl Malone with the speed/quickness/leaping ability of Derrick Rose, it's certainly pretty crazy.

I do find it interesting that I hear people in both "camps" saying that one can't even be compared to the other because the gap is so wide. Maybe this just shows that there isn't much of a gap at all? Obviously when you factor in age, you take Durant for the "what player would you build a franchise around". I think that this year or in the next two Durant will continue to slowly overtake LeBron for the #1 spot. Because of that, I would say that this is the first of probably 3 or 4 seasons where they're in sole direct competition for the MVP award.

I'm a big fan of Lebron, but saying the gap is big is BS.

Both are on the same level at this point, the big difference being that Lebron is better defending, and Durant on offense.

Surprisingly, Lebron has been a fairly poor defender this year by advanced metrics, KD has actually been all around better. Now, to be fair, we all know Lebron will turn his game up come playoff time.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Nice video. Loving the damage that KD has been doing this year, he's making all of us in the DMV proud. Hopefully we get another Heat-Thunder final and may the better team, and player, prevail.

Durant is amazing. Playing better than anyone this year. Hopefully he wins his first chip this year.
