I was typing out a post about how even if you like Perk or not this hurts depth...but then I realized it probably helps (the same way loosing Russ for a bit helped).

Adams will get thrown into the fire.....whether he performs or not, it is going to be great film and game time for him.

Jones will get more min (since Ibaka and Collison will be playing more C minutes)

Small ball will def get some more min in the next 6ish weeks.

Yeah, I feel the same the more I think of it. Wonder if any FAs/buyouts are around for depth?

Now we get to see how much value Perk has since he is out now.

Ibaka and Collison will now play a lot more center with PJ3 and Durant playing a lot of 4. I don't see a big on the market but, maybe bring in a wing to help Westbrook, Jackson, Lamb, Thabo, and Fish fill the 1-3 minutes.

I was honestly pretty disappointed to hear this. There are several matchups that playing without Perk is tough. Adams is really going to have to step up. This will at least definitively give us a time period to evaluate if the team is really better without him on the floor in most matchups.

Yea might as well see if the guy is ready now. If he isn't that some good playing time to get. even if minutes is the same he'll be playing more vs the starters hopefully.

No decent-ish big getting bought out?

Things that bother me about Steven Adams (and why it bothers me Perk is out).

You know what you're getting with Perk.

Adams SHOWED his abilities to start the season but has since regressed pretty hard.

I've already mentioned he brings the ball down in the post, opposed to keeping it high and putting it up quick (he got lots of easy buckets off that).
If he gets an offensive rebound in the paint his first thought is to pass (which I'm not fully against, the defense will be closing and Lamb cutting isn't a bad option), but too often he is open with an easy bucket.
If he does get an O rebound or gets a pass in the paint, he lays it up with finesse, when he should be slamming it down with ease.

Now let me finish by saying I'm not down on Adams..he is far ahead of where most thought he would be. It seems the team may be having him focus more on D, which makes since considering who he will eventually replace. Hoping he gets some good min and will show off some of the skill that he has flashed.
