Not an OKC fan, but I wanted to hear your input since you guys are the most familiar. What are the chances Durant leaves in 2016 if he doesn't win a championship before then?

It depends, long time away, but I don't think he will as I don't see anyone else who mcan offer what OKC can. More money, a top 3 PG, Ibaka who is becoming a great 3rd option, all at 25 or younger and they will be signed for years after that. Don't know for sure, but don't see why he would leave.

Just curious why you ask here though, you're likely not gonna hear anyone who think he leaves.

I say it's about 1%. I don't think there's another team out there that can offer the money, and there definitely isn't another team better suited to his needs unless he and Lebron decide to team up somewhere

If we win a championship and westbrook is healthy the chances are 0.00000000001% but if we don't I would say it is a 40-45% chance.

You guys are whistling past the graveyard if you don't think Durant will seriously consider leaving if he doesn't win a championship here in the next two or three years. Any reasonable person would look at his alternatives. Durant is not a dummy.

If he wins one (or more), I think that he stays. But if not, I think that it is better than 50% that he is gone. Plenty of teams are willing to go over the cap to win. IMO, you would have already won if not for Brooks and/or Perkins. Neither is really "championship" material to me.

While I agree with this... I think the most likely scenario (if we don't win it all) is that he'll look at his options and see that there isn't another team that can pay him as much and pair him with another superstar and an all-star (Russ and Serge) that also happen to be his age and that he seems to enjoy playing with.

So yes, I certainly expect that he'll look at his alternatives... I just don't think he'll find anything as appealing.

Agree that if he wins one then he probably won't look around at all... But 2016 Wall+Beal may be tempting. Just another thought.

I do agree with this thought. If he were to leave, I'd say its to DC.

If OKC gets to the finals this year, I think they probably beat Miami or the Pacers. Then more than likely he stays. But even if they do win this year, sometimes players might get the yearning to go back to their hometown area. It wouldn't be a crazy move. Especially if they had some good young talent there.

But to me it is almost a toss up between SA, OKC, and LAC this year. I could see any of them winning the west. And lets say that OKC doesn't win it this year. There are lots of good up and coming teams in the west. I don't take it as a given that OKC would win next year if they don't this year. What if someone like Pau Gasol went to a contender in the west (other than OKC)? I think that he could make several teams heavy favorites. And then what if OKC doesn't win in the next two or three years? I think Durant probably leaves.

My main point is that if he wins a championship here all will be well. But if not, he will probably be looking at his "legacy" and may decide he has to leave to win it all.

Oh, and BTW, I think that Durant still has an outside chance at being the best of all time. He needs to gain about 20 more pounds and develop a power inside game to go along with his outside game. Then he could be right up there as the GOAT. That is a long way off, but I think the potential is there.

I hope he stays, or the NBA's sake.

He seems very loyal and not a spotlight chaser so I'd be very surprised if he considered leaving.

Probably depends if they win a title or not in the next 3 years.

DC/Wash is where i think he could go if not.

OKC can offer him the most money though but it will come down to who offers him the best chance at winning a title.

Would love for KD to stay. I'd hate for him to pull a Lebron and have an ESPN "Decision" to go somewhere else and the Thunder become the Cleveland of the West.
