Still think they get that 8 spot... It'll be nuts if KD's foot feels good enough to go have a feeling he will have a hard time watching the playoffs from the sidelines...... This team is awesome if he returns and can be the deadly shooter he has been all season it's gonna be interesting.... A Westbrook, morrow, KD, Ibaka, and kanter /Adams or mcgary closing lineup would be insane

Even without Ibaka and KD this team is good enough to hold onto the 8 seed. IF somehow they both make it back for the playoffs this team is still capable of winning a championship as the 8 seed. If you want to go from a doom and gloom standpoint if KD's foot turns out to be like Grant Hill's knee where he never is the same player again it will be tragic and not just for OKC and KD, but for basketball. It is such a shame when a great player shows their greatness in the NBA then gets their career destroyed by injuries.

With the way the NBA seems to work I could see OKC miss the playoffs and win the #1 pick in the draft. It just seems that stuff like that tends to happen semi-regularly in the randomness of the draft lottery.

The reason KD isn't playing is because of things like Hill's ankle. We've been ultra cautious because we aren't rising our guy's future. Soreness means he isn't playing and that's a GREAT thing 3 years from now.

If Durant/Ibaka are done for the year(?) I'd rather just sit Westbrook and tank the rest of the way. Would like to see what Presti could do with another late lottery pick.

To attempt to tank at this point would be completely illogical. The Thunder are 2 games up on NOLA with 13 to go. Is the potential addition of a Devin Booker or R.J. Hunter worth showing Russ and KD that you are willing to pull the plug on a season? How do you think that would sit with KD when you are showing him that you would be willing to try to lose a playoff spot just because you had a few injuries? If they were 3-4 games behind NOLA then I could see an argument for shutting things down.

Ibaka will likely be back for the first round of the playoffs. There is no telling with KD, but it is possible he could return for the playoffs. Even without them you keep your foot on the pedal and show that as an organization you are going to fight to the bitter end every season. KD and Russ are both very competitive and you do not want to throw in the towel for a possible late lottery pick. What happens if you throw in the towel and NOLA continues to nose dive and you end up as the 8 seed anyway? Do you suit up Russ in the playoffs and tell him you were just kidding?

If Durant could be back healthy for the first round of the playoffs, then yeah of course try to make the playoffs, but without him the team is realistically going nowhere. If he's done for the year, I just don't think there's any point in Westbrook attempting to be a superman and risk getting hurt trying to carry the team into the playoffs/a series or two, especially with how the season has gone injury-wise.

There's zero point to "tanking". Why? To get a late first round pick and let KD see that the team is nothing without him? That's like a desperate girl asking you out on a date (when he's a free agent) saying "I NEED YOU KEVIN!". Just show him what he's missing if he leaves. Plus, a bonus is conveying that traded pick, it sucks to have draft picks owed to teams, its better to just get that over with.

We're adding Huestis next year, possibly Abrines as well and we have at least thirteen guys we're bringing back. We NEED that pick to be conveyed.

Anyone have info on Abrines's injury BTW?

Last i heard was there was no structural damage. He would be back in 2 to 3 weeks.

The poster "Jaivl" said he was a steal of a pick and that he could be a decent player when he comes over.

Me too, great poster.

He wasn't too confident in Pleiss though, Presti probably thought the same and that's why he was let go.

We also need to see how Lamb and Mitch look next season. Roberson needs to work on his shooting this offseason, if he gets to atleast 33% it would be great.

Mitch in his second season and Lamb in a contract year. I've given up on Jones' soft mentality.

This was what I heard too. It's why I didn't mind giving him up in the trade. Jaivl is great, wish he'd drop by sometime!

If it was confirmed that KD would be out for the rest of the season, then i'd be very interested in seeing what this team could do without him and Ibaka.
With the offensive firepower we now have, i question what the ceiling is for this team. Kanter is a legit center, i'd have to go over statistics, but i think hes a top 5 for centers. Obviously he is not great defensively, but that's masked on this OKC team. As long as Adams, Ibaka or Collison are in the game with him.

Adam's is spot on for my projections of him this season.

A.M. has gone back to showing that potential he came in the league with and along side him we have what is possibly the best defensive 2 in the game.

Waiters is continuing to improve and if he does what he says hes going to do and simply continue to drive, that opens up a whole new door of production for our other players. Especially bench players. The last thing any team wants to see is OKC once again having three players (two if KD is out) who are constantly driving the ball and collapsing their defense. Its what made OKC reach the finals.

And McGary... this guy might be a legit star. The effort he puts in for rebounds and his defense is really reminiscent of Barkley and Rodman. Not saying he will reach that level, but for being a first year player and forcing his way to the ball.. man... few players of his position and size really do that.

Im actually very excited to see this team without KD. As long as he heals from his injury and its not going to be reoccurring all the damn.
