I normally categorize potential trades with Western competition as unlikely.

Would love to swap Waiters and McGary for a Reddick, but with the collective kumbaya by him an teammates over Jordan that possibility seems to have gone from unlikely to nil.

What about Crawford? He is apparently on the block. Great sixth man, albeit approaching geezer hood. He would be better and cheaper than Waiters, only question is what it would take. Not much of a salary dump unless you can throw in a PJ. Doing that or adding Novak might even take a third party.

Any interest?

Honestly, Crawford is to me Waiters without the excuse of youth, they're remarkably similar.

Seems to me Crawford is a bit more consistent, a little better scorer, a little more efficient, just much older.

Would rather have a career sixth man that can accept role than one that is still hanging on to the belief that he is a starter.

Not sure of the answer to this. Which offers more value at trade deadline, Crawford's expiring, or Waiters multi-year contract, reasonable for anyone but Waiters contract?

Why would the Clippers want Waiters?

I assume Crawford is on the block because Rivers will be taking over that 6th man punch scoring role. Can't see any reason for them to want Waiters and his contract.

But Craw doesn't really accept his role, shot em outta the playoffs.

Well they don't have to play him, can keep danging his expiring to fill a need. I don't see how Waiters makes any sense to them at all.

Will keep looking. Maybe Craw isn't a good fit
