I'm curious how much everyone would pay to keep him around. Let's say he is hitting the market this offseason, how much would you give him per year?

Honestly, I don't see teams throwing money at him, I'd guess he gets offered 8 per year max, which I'd easily match. His one knock was shooting, and that's vastly improved even at low volume. He's a must keep.

We're in agreement as usual. 8 was my thinking for 'fair' value. If a team offered him 9 I'd instantly be willing to match. The not so dirty little secret is that we're always better with him on the court. His defensive on/off numbers are almost as impressive as Russ's offensive ones, and now he's actually scoring at greater efficiency than Bowen generally did.

He and Russ are also building some chemistry on lobs and fastbreaks, and that's what really excites me. Generally 3D guys don't have the handles or athleticism to not be minuses in other areas, but Robes really only has shooting as a significant weakness. The question becomes rather or not we can afford to pay him what he is worth but only play him 20 minutes per night? I think he has already outgrown that role and we should be finding more lineups to fit him in, maube even seeing if he could handle the Harrison Barnes type SF/PG role with the bench unit.

I don't think he has the handles for PG. Did you mean PF? I do think he could play some smallball PF.

No, Barnes (more under Jackson) played 'pg' in the sense that he was asked to take care of the ball while off the ball action was happening and then deliver the pass to shooters. I think it would be a role Robes could have some success in while on the floor with DJ and A-Mo. His handles are solid enough and his passes accurate enough that guys couldn't crowd him and keep him from delivering without letting him get into the lane. He wouldn't be running the pick and roll or breaking down the defense (well, actually I wouldn't mind seeing him get some secondary looks running the pick and roll just to see how it goes early season), just holding the ball waiting for shooters.

You just basically described a swingman's role.

TBH, his driving has been surprisingly decent, if only in straight lines when guys sag. I'd be OK with the occasional PnR for experiment's sake, but I'm not too optimistic.
