“I’m one of those guys that would love to stick it out with one team my whole career.”
“[I want to be a] Kobe, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki type of dude.”
“I love it here and I would love to get my jersey retired here.”
“I love my teammates, I love the city, I don’t really think about anywhere else.”
“I think of myself as a small-town kid”
“I liked the small-town vibe. But it was a ghost town. The downtown wasn’t really a downtown. I don’t remember a single tall building. Now I look at that building and it’s a beacon, reminding me what we came from.”

Thanks for all of the reminders, lol. I wish we could get all of our games against GS out of the way to start the season.

Betrayal is all I can describe this return. Everything Durant said previously in the past regarding OKC and his loyalty set up the fact that it led us as fans and the team thinking he'll return to Oklahoma City. His decision to leave us after we were up 3-1 with 3 chances to win the series hurts even more reminiscing about it. Three separate occasions to reach the NBA Finals blown, specifically Game 6 - the game you threw away. Not to mention the fact that he's been keeping in contact with Green and the Warriors during the series.

Getting chat up by Green while he's repeatedly kicking your valued team mate in the nuts (among other things) is just horrendous professionalism. You can probably put a hold on the conversations until your playoff series against him is over.
Anyway. They take regular season games against a handful of teams very seriously while phoning it in for everyone else (and still usually winning). Cavs, Clippers and us. For different reasons of course. Regardless though, they know that putting in a complete performance against us is good for getting Durant to fit in. And when they go full pelt, only the cavs have a chance of stopping them. So I don't expect it to be close. If we are going to win, Durant will have to have a bad game against us for once, instead of dropping 40+ on supreme efficiency.
As long as he gets the everloving **** booed out of him I'll be happy I guess.

Yeah we don't have the horses to win this. I just hope Cleveland gets Melo without giving up love, or gets Cousins for love. I don't hate Durant, I'm just sick of hearing about it. I think I understand how Russ feels about cupcake. He doesn't hate him, but he's dead to Russ. I'm kind of the same way with people who cross me. I won't give you two more thoughts after I'm done with you. I love Russ for signing the extension. My loyalty is to the thunder. That goes beyond KD or Russ. I'm more concerned with building this team than I am giving one thought to Durant. I'm probably up in the minority,

Yeah probly gonna avoid the GB more than usual, I'm sure the bad ones will be out. Unfortunately the good ones post more on team boards. Just hope the Cavs beat the snot out of them again, they're my most hated team in any sport possibly in memory.

If they rest KD we should rest Russ. Our stars are not any less valuable then theirs.

I kind of feel like venting some feelings. So I apologize if this is too long. It's like therapy to me. I still haven't decided if I'll watch tomorrow. If I were a season ticket holder, I would have sold my tickets to this game. Durant is gone. I've come to terms with it. My frustration isn't because I havent moved on from it, it's that the media won't let me. I can watch a random golden state game and not have any sick feeling in my stomach. I'm not quite the same when it comes to watching them play OKC. The media attention makes me think of the scene in the dark knight rises, "You see, it's the slow knife... the knife that takes its time, the knife that waits years without forgetting, then slips quietly between the bones... that's the knife that cuts deepest."
There are a lot of things that irk me about Durant leaving. Probably the biggest one is how it's resulted in Westbrook gettting a bad name of being a selfish player. Russ isn't perfect but if Durant had a problem with Russ and he would have went to Presti, I believe we would have seen more of an effort to see the style of basketball changed. The reality is Durant didn't do that. He did everything in private. That's his right to do as an UFA. I would have been disappointed in Durant leaving for any team for any reason. The team he chose was pretty weak, but I can live with that. His reasons that he and his camp leaked to the media made me more upset than his decision. That was more cowardly than joining the greatest team in regular season history.
Even as a die hard thunder fan, I couldn't help but admire how Golden State played and what they had built. I know sports is a business but we don't spend time on message boards discussing Google's earnings for the last quarter or what engineers Apple hired. Well, guys with girlfriends don't do that. Sports is different. When Golden State blow up their roster to get KD, it reminded me of something I hate about life. The rich get richer and greed wins. The ultimate "team" had been courting KD all year, even during the playoffs. Then Kerr made comments about OKC not giving Durant enough shots. Seeds of doubt continued to grow in Durants mind. The team unity golden state had, was blown up at the chance to get KD. The big rich guy crushed the little guy.
People have mentioned the possibility of KD returning at some point. I not only don't think this will happen, I don't want it to happen. If your wife leaves you for mother man, you don't have to hate her and be full of anger. However you're plenty justified if you don't want her back. I don't wish Durant or any other GS warrior injuries, but I do wish they have no success. As things stand now, the warriors are very likely to win not just one, but multiple titles. I want nothing more that for this thunder team to be good enough to win an NBA title immediately, and do it with Russell Westbrook.
Some people don't think Russ will stay here after next year. They feel that the contract extension was only about making a financially responsible move. Durant made a decision that didn't maximize his earnings. I believe Russ wants to be here. If he does leave, I don't think it will be in the manner Durant left. It's funny how the perception has changed and Russ is the face of this franchise. I feel more of a desire to see him personally succeed that I ever felt with Durant. People are quick to point out Russ' flaws and I'm not oblivious to them. Russ can't do this on his own and I hope we can give him the support that's he's given back to OKC. You might say that Russ is not the hero OKC deserves, but not the one it needs right now. I don't know if I'll watch the game tomorrow. I'll keep tabs on it. Maybe I'll watch The Dark Knight Trilogy.

I'm pretty well over it. I want to see cupcake fail and see him get booed, but in the end it's just another game we're outmatched in and I'm not going to be too upset by it unless we lose a heartbreaker somehow. Cupcake is gone and it's over, I guess I don't hate him but he showed everyone the kind of coward he is professionally so I hope that is at least remembered.

I tend to be with spearsy. Hate him as an athlete and have zero respect for him in that regard. At the same time I love this year's team even more than I have in the past and what growth there's been in my opinion from all the young guys. Yeah complain about Dipo all you want but he's doing pretty well in a role that wasn't originally planned for him. Adams has still improved and Kanter prior to being a moron was having a legitimately 6MOY type season again. Everyone thought this team could blow up and they haven't. Russ is going nuts, and Abrines has been maybe one of the best surprises since a cold first 10 or so games. For tomorrow boo away and like I said I'll never cheer for or respect him. But whatever, I'm kinda over it.
All that said I still hope he never wins a thing, and am pretty sure he'll always be seen as a guy who wasn't good enough and didn't feel secure enough to win himself.

You guys may be over it but I can tell you as a neutral fan who has the luxury of not looking bitter for holding a grudge, that I'm not going to get over it.
Easily the softest quote of all time
He's truly earned A title at least.
This icon isn't just for show. I'm in.
To be clear, to support WB and the Thunder, not to hate on Durant.

What caught me completely off guard was his utter lack of competitive spirit. He won the MVP in 2014 and followed that up with a stinker in the Playoffs. The 2014-2015 season is wasted because of injuries. 2015-2016 is mostly him just coasting - that 'fire' was gone. He was our 2nd worst player in the Mavs series. Mediocre in the Spurs series and good in the Warriors series until he decided to throw the series.
I just can't understand his stance on the Warriors. He was a Top player in this league going for a title every year and along comes that squad filled with douchebags. He is sitting at home watching from the outside. And instead of say '**** that, I'll show 'em', he goes 'Well, I tried; let's join them'. What is that? After one failed attempt, he's rolling over?
I still firmly believe that decision was made months ago. There's a reason why he never looked like himself last season. He wanted out, no matter what. Especially since he started giving effort for the Warriors that he never gave for us. That's just insulting. Just like his behaviour after bolting.

I'm glad for those who are ''over it'' but I'm not. He has the right to choose to do everything he wants with his superstar life, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a pathological liar that cares too much about his image and is trying to make up things to try to alleviate his pussy move. He did the worst move in basketball history and that's not even close, and I'm not telling it as an OKC fan or because I used to cheer for him. Most neutral fans and ex-players agree with this.
I **** HATE HIM AND I HOPE THE CHESAPEAKE WILL LET HIM KNOW that we are all about real, loyal and good guys ( even if they suck in defense like kanter).
I don't give a **** about the game ( ok I'm lying, I still do a little bit), but I will be very mad at our crowd if he doesn't get the reception he deserves.

There is a part in here that talks about Russ.
Well, I know Kevin will always love Russ. That's what he said to me. He really doesn't see where there is a problem. He understands that there may have been some differences when he left the team. But he doesn't really see a problem with it. He said that he and Russ will always be brothers and be brothers for life.
That is amazing & the problem. Cupcake doen't see where there is a problem with not even having enough respect to call his "brother" & tell him what you're doing. What an amazing bubble you must live in where you can't understand how your "brother" might be a little mad at you for just dipping on him without so much as a call because you don't have the balls to actually call him to let him know that you just gave up.
At the end of the day this is the stuff that has bummed me out about this whole thing. It sucks that he left, but that's his decision at the end of the day. It's the way he left that bothers me. The fact that he couldn't call & tell Russ or Nick after all those years, the fact that a day after he announced it his people where already throwing everybody under the bus to deflect that he just gave up, & the fact that he still doesn't get why people would be mad.
