What about targeting Avery Bradley? We could let Dre walk and then sign a vet minimum pg.

Nah. Too small and about to be way more expensive than Dre.

Targeting him with what? We don't have picks or cap space.

Does he make enough of a difference to be worth it? If he does then move Adams at seasons end. I feel like we need to be aggressive if we want to have any shot at retaining George. This isn't terribly far away.

Curry - Westbrook
George -Durant
Bradley- Thompson
Patterson- Green
Adams- Pachulia

Ferguson, Grant and Chicago 2018 pick. That gives Ainge an asset, cheap salary and almost a late first round pick. They key is if we could move Kanter to
Open space for Bradley.

Yeah. They might have to dump Smart, but they won't just give Bradley away for nothing.

Salaries aren't even anywhere in the realm of matching. And moving Kanter doesn't open enough space.

Getting Bradley would have to via a 3 way deal. Maybe using the TPE to pick up a trade piece and then packaging it to a 3rd team who could help fill in the picks necessary to get Boston to move Bradley

Mudiay (TPE) and Kanter to Hawks
Bulls 2018 2nd, and Future 2nd to Boston
Bradley to OKC

I doubt Boston thinks that is enough value for Bradley. Maybe you add Grant to Boston, but thats still doubtful.

So basically even though Bradley makes only $4 million more than Smart, there isn't anyway to make it work?

I don't understand why everyone wants to move Kanter so badly (unless it somehow nets you a very good two-way player)
He will be something OKC needs very badly against 95% of the league through the regular season, and in the playoffs with the right personnel around him defensively (which we now have with 2Pat and PG13)

If they can magically snag Smart for a second rounder or two then I would be impressed... I would think some teams would go bidding higher than that on his services

If the Thunder can get Smart for some 2nd round picks it would be great. He is a RFA next year. I think we should try to keep the young players on the roster.

Because Kanter sucks and is a waste of money. That's why.

Quick and dirty trade calculator.

175% of outgoing salary plus 100,000 dollars to make it work.
