2. Nah, I don't think they're that thin skinned. It's not false, they know it too.

4. Not really, he's like Enes in that he's just too slow footed.

1. I believe Doug's a player without a true position. Too small for the stretch four and too slow for playing the 3. Maybe off guard but needs to work on his handle.
2. Any bench player should be unhappy with their lack of minutes and use. He needs to capitalize on his opportunities. Be more aggressive with the second unit. If he performs then the minutes will come.
3. Thunder are probably going to wait and see. An extension won't cost much. I would line him up against PG in practice and see what he's made of.
4. Kyle Korver became an above average defender with knowing his role and his capabilities. Mcdermott has better athletic ability than Korver but not the BB IQ. Court awareness and positioning could help him a lot. He needs to spend more time watching film on opponents. Work on stripping guys going up for shots because he never get close to blocking shots or altering them.


I'm hoping Doug gains confidence with a full training camp with the Thunder. He has the offensive skill set for the NBA but needs to find a way to stay on the floor with his defense liability.

1. I think he's more of a 4 than a 3 tbh. He's too slow to guard on the perimeter and he's got a face up game that he used in Chicago against opposing bench 4s. Think he functions really well in that role especially if he can share the floor with Roberson and PG. Crazy we never saw him as a 4 in OKC even with all of Donovan's experimentation.

2. UPSET isn't really the right word. And he's got a right to complain.

3. I wouldn't sniff any type of extension right now unless he's willing to take something crazy low like 3yr/8mil. The market's gonna be even worse for RFA's next summer than it was this year. I say wait and see what Russ and PG decide in the offseason. If we have the space then I don't have a problem matching a reasonable offer sheet.

4. No but I think that playing him at the 4 he can be a better defender overall when he's delegated more to the paint and less so on the perimeter.

1) It'll be like trying to have Kendrick Perkins playing PG.

2) No. I think his play is what upsets them.

3) Trade him if they can, but they aren't going to attach value to him to dump him for a scrub like Chicago did. Most likely they let him walk.
