Its going to be interesting how this situation progresses. From the way Woj is reporting it seems like Kawhi wants out, but has not completely closed the door on that supermax deal if it is offered to him. Maybe SA has been hesitant to offer him the deal and his camp is intimating that you either offer him the money or you trade him.

It feels like money alone is not a good enough reason for the relationship to continue regardless if that is the only thing keeping him there.

I'm all aboard the screw the Lakers train.

SA can screw over the Lakers in two ways
1) trading him to any other team before free agency
2) Holding onto him until later in the summer which wouldn't allow them to have him to pitch other guys in free agency.

kd's decision empowered kawhi to do this, under the circumstances.

You mean lebron started all this?

How? LeBron went to a new team after he hit FA. He didn't try to force his way to a bad team via trade. Carmelo Anthony is the player you were looking for. Melo forcing his way to a bad NYK team is the best comparison you have unless you want to use PG or Kyrie. Neither LeBron nor KD fit as both waited until FA to change teams. LeBron never gave up money to change teams. Kwahi is giving up his 35% contract to make 30% of the cap. That is a pretty good chunk of money he's leaving on the table, about $25M over his next 4 year contract and more if he signs a 5 year deal. PG and Kyrie both gave up chances at supermax contracts to be traded also.

I'm actually just making fun of Slick's overestimation of Durant's influence. But players have been forcing their way out for a long time, it's not actually anything new. Kareem is the first big name I can think of, but I doubt he was even first.

Lol - Green has a player option.

I would think that the Spurs would want to include Pau Gasol in any deal and maybe even Patty Mills in any deal.

Adams, Roberson, and Abrines all fit as the type of players the Spurs like to have in their organization. I don’t think it’s the best package but the package only has to beat what the Knicks, Clippers, and Lakers have. If you are any other team looking to put a package together they have to go in to it just like the Thunder did last year in that this could be a one year rental or it’s a free opportunity to sell the guy on what you are as an organization.

I personally don’t think the Celtics will move Hayward, Horford, Tatum or Brown. Kyrie is the wild card here, and the Celtics have to be really careful with how they handle this because he has said to want NY.

Neither of the LA teams can offer anyone as good as Adams. I also don’t think the Spurs care to trade him to LA.

The 6ers GM is Brent Brown, he came from the Spurs. I think the risk of moving two very young guys for a guy that can’t reconcile a/ Pop and wants LA. I think you keep adding to this young talent and don’t push the process, that is unless you can get someone else in free agency to join Kawhi.

If Anfernee Simmons drops to the second round I think he’s worth it if we can get the pick.

Just saw Josh Richardson of the Miami Heat, Tennessee Volunteers and Edmond Santa Fe Wolvs with a bunch of young dudes (AAU or a basketball camp they were all wearing t-shirts that said something on them which I didn't quite make out?) out at Braums. They left and all piled into a Cadillac Escalade. Pretty cool that he comes back and does stuff like that around here.

He did an interview on the sports animal yesterday. He seems pretty happy living in Miami.

I'm in love with Collin Sexton. If he shanks a guy at the free throw line I'll be the first to defend him for just being competitive.

These rumors are getting ridiculous. Kawhi doesn’t want to play in la with LeBron because of the media attention?

Robert Williams is going to be a problem for the Celtics.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
