The spurs bench had 68 points tonight.

Blake is going to regret not giving OKC a chance. Have fun in Motown.

Dunc'd On did Harris+Bradley for Love and that was with Love's situation in Cleveland, the Cavs's desperation and him only having one more year (I think) on that contract.

i don't think it's bad for either team, especially if LAC unload DAJ for the brooklyn pick and everything else cleveland can give up.

I really like Tobias harris, but this trade is something else. Clippers have to be planning on selling some of those pieces off (Bradley/Boban) Those guys have no use on a rebuilding team. Is Lou Williams gone? DJ is surely gone, but if Blake got that little return locked in for years, then DeAndre can't be worth more than some filler being an expiring. Late first & expirings and call it a day.

What the hell just happened? That's awful return, might as well have let him wwalk last summer.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

An expiring, an overpaid backup Center who isn't even playing regularly, Reed, a second rounder, Tobias Harris and a late lotto at best. Trash return imo.

It's weird because I think in a vacuum it's worth it for LA just to get off Griffin's deal, but if that's honestly all they could get then the prevailing view around the league would have to be that he's a bad contract.

It's evident that NBA GM's do not value the 2nd tier of star (read: top 10-25 players) as much as fans do, they never get a good return. This makes it look like we overpaid for PG13 in comparison.

No it doesn't.

I don't think so.

It might mean, that some players who are considered to be top 10-25 players by fans, but who are neither true first options (players who can be the best player on a contender) nor good complimentary players (players who have exploitable weaknesses) are not that sought after.

Paul George (elite defender + has shown to 'turn it up' in the playoffs, super versatile skillset) is neither.

This Clippers thing is a perfect example for how some parts of the media like to create their own narrative and push it afterwards as if it were a well known fact. I just gave the Ringer NBA podcast a listen. They were talking about how Paul George would pick the Clippers if he had to chose between them being a 3-5 seed and the Thunder being a 3-5 seed. How the Clippers have always been a free agent destination.

What a bunch of nonsense. They're trying to create this LA narrative when the opposite has been true for years: Players chose teams they can win with, not trash teams. If they get this for Griffin, they'll get underwhelming return for 2-4 months of Lou Williams and at best one year of Jordan as well. Are you gonna sell free agents on Gallo, Tobias Harris and the Rivers family? Give me a **** break.

And don't get me started on this 'Jerry West' stuff.

feels like Doc Rivers just got out of losing his job with this trade.
Now hes coaching a rebuilding team. Not a on the fringe playoff team with 3 on the fringe all stars.

Bill Simmons is a clipper fan, not to the extent that he is a Boston fan but he started going to clippers games when he moves to LA because their tickets were cheap.

I know that. I also know that LA is a big market and that pushing narratives like this is good for revenue. Yet it still bothers me.

lol they're swarming with MVP chants.

Curry's honestly been far and away better this year. Harden started off crazy hot and dropped a bit lately. POY thread on the PC board is actually interesting.

I'm firmly in the valuable part of MVP meaning most important to their team, which automatically disqualifies warriors as long as both Curry and Durant are playing.
