Gave Melo POTG for the Denver game by box score watching, thanks!

Interesting. George said he has never been stretched the way he has been stretched by our strength coach. Even went on to say that his lower back feels better. Give our strength coach a pay raise for this win, Mr. Presti.

agreed. didn't behave like a hot head and played on both ends of the court.
when baron came back in and more or less gave up a 14-2 run on his own with the unnecessary gambling defensively i thought we were toast. but pg and to a lessor degree melo assumed control and baron took a back seat. dre made some plays defensively that saved us as well (the block on thornwell where he completely took baron).
at some point baron needs to learn how to keep focus and not try to win basketball games with one play. the awful rotations on defense aren't a result of lack of effort, but lack of focus, and wanting to hit a defensive home run every time down the court.
maybe baron would be more comfortable in the loose cannon hulk smash role he's always had and pg can be the face of the team like kd was.

PG13 was just great. He mostly didn't take any stupid shot (maybe one or two in the end). Middle of 4th quarter when we were struggling and Russ gave him the ball and he passed to Melo in the post was really great. He showed how we needed to play during those stretches. I think he also needs the ball in his hands to be more effective, so I guess Russ will have to let him with the ball a little bit more.
I also liked Melo being quiet tbh. He just took a stupid shot at the end but overall he was doing fine.

Well, we finally beat a semi-competent NBA team. I'm not sure if the Clippers are even semi-competent without Gallinari, Beverley, and Teodosic, but a win is a win is a win. And we didn't have Adams, and the Clippers had Griffin and Jordan which meant they were still a huge matchup nightmare for us coming into the game.

I'm with you as far as being tired of Russell's crap but, Baron? Is this a reference to Baron Davis or is it an allusion to his entitled attitude?

We have 2 easy (supposedly) games coming up. Get this back to 500 and then give the Spurs hell. Saw some good things. Dakari looked great. He might be our solution at backup center. Abrines was great, and I'm glad we got him some looks. Paul George should be handling the ball in crunch time. Proud of them for fighting through and getting the win. We can't be blowing 20 point leads in less than a quarter though.

I remember when TOR was in its inaugural season. They were awful as you'd expect. They'd come to play against some of the better teams though. Almost beat the 95-96 Bulls team the 3rd time they played them, but MJ took over (as usual) and they lost. Next time around, TOR got the W. One of only 10 losses CHI would get that season.
You don't ever take a W for granted in this league. I think there wasn't a lack of urgency but that skid was a nice wake up call. Let's see if they keep their foot to the pedal or if they slack again after getting the monkey off their back.

I missed the second half. Can I get a brief rundown? Seems like PG did some things.
Our assist numbers from our starting 5 look good, were we moving the ball?
How did Dakari go?

Could just be me but I feel like getting Abrines involved like tonight might be a good thing. Should do that more often going forward.

Your Baron comment isn't funny, intellegent(sia), or anything but disrespectful to the face of the franchise. He has a few bad games, to start an 82 game season after he was the entire team, and you start acting like he can't play. He's adjusting. It's very early. This is all about the playoffs, kiddo.

The fanbase turned on Westbrook quickly, specially on DT. He's been awful so far, true. And in kind of a weird way, not attacking the rim much, less explosive, free throws. Looking thicker? That knee might be giving him more trouble then we know.

Yeah I don't get the turn on Russ but J hasn't ever been a fan. And DT is crazy cynical. I'm a cynic and it makes me look tame. Then again some places he went from near concensus top 5 to out of it because of TS and having worse support.

Badly needed this win. One thing I'm realizing watching the Pelicans every night is people really underrate the importance of time. Time makes a talented team strong.
