We shot 36% against the bulls.

I didn't watch but how in the heck did that end up being just a 13 point win?

We scored 34 bleeping points in the second half against the bleeping Bulls?

Thank goodness we were playing one of the three worst teams in the NBA. Almost every other team in the league, even after being down 27-7 after the first quarter, would've come back and beat us tonight.

After the SAC game, just be happy with the W.

17% of the season is done and they're .500. They got to start picking it up and develop some good habits.

I just don’t see it happening. They won’t stay within 25 points of the warriors. Looks at Golden states efficiency of their big three compared to ours.

In what is a recurring pattern, we display good traits in the first quarter offensively, actually working to find high % shots.

Then in the second half we just get lazy and sloppy and iso our way out of games. What should have been a 30 point win became 13 because of the terrible habits we foster when we play bad teams.

We started coasting in the 3rd. Those kind of behaviors will cost us games during the season (already did against Boston)

Still some positive notes from the game and I hope we can play good basketball during 48 minutes against the Spurs but we clearly need to play focused all game even against ''bad'' opponents.

That was a basketball game. It was 48 minutes long. That was about the only things to take from this one.

Really the only way I can see this season going is maybe we finish 4th due to talent, but then falter against golden state (or the spurs or even rockets) in the 2nd/3rd round of the playoffs because we won't be changing this **** iso ball at all.

So basically the regular programming of thunder basketball.

Anybody have our third quarter point differential since Donovan became coach? I feel like we're consistently much worse in the third.

I was pretty down about the Thunder a few games ago, but damn. This board is super negative:

Fire Donovan.
We suck.
Will lose to HOU, GS, or SAS.

Meanwhile... things to be happy about:

2nd best in team defensive efficiency

3-0 win streak (w/o Adams in two games)

Westbrook shooting 20/45 (45% from the field in the past few games.)

Westbrook is shooting 6/13 from the 3 in the last 3 games which is 46%.

Westbrook has had 16 steals over the past 5 games. He’s playing defense ya’ll.

In the past 3 games, Westbrook is shooting 24/26 from the charity stripe.

Jerami Grant is doing good things.

Dakari Johnson looks like he could be something of substance.

Carmelo Anthony looks great for 33 going on 34.

PG is doing PG things.

Felton has looked serviceable.

Huestis looks like he could be the best end of the bench contributor in the league.

We are 5th in point differential.

We are 6th in 3PM differential.

Hey, there’s still 82-13 games left too!

Trash game offensively. Against better teams, we lose this one.

This one and done offense is not gonna cut it. It took us 10 minutes in the 1st quarter to generate a good shot off of multiple passes and off the ball movement.

Melo is back and we're calling his number way too often. Then if course gets in on the action and there we are again with the terrible offense.

You completely coasted the whole second half on offense, it's not indicative of much. Hard to stay focused when the other team is so bad. Still, too much ISOs again and too many possessions where everything happened too slowly.

The most positive sign for you has to be that Westbrook played quite well on D in this one IMO, not just the steals, but he was playing with more energy on that end that I've seen of him in a long time, even after you got a high lead he kept hustling, and ran out to contest 3 point shots regularly in a way he's been very reluctant to do in the previous games or last season. He needs to do more of that against the better teams.

Melo just can't help himself. He doesn't know any other way to play.

He played differently against the Clippers. He has it in him, we're just not enforcing that role.

George looks like his offensive output is very dependent on rhythm. When we're playing like this and his looks at the basket are just leftovers, he's not making shots.

I couldn’t agree more with you. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I think we will play our highest level of basketball with Westbrook deferring to George as much as he did the 3 games prior. I’m not saying Westbrook just needs to defer totally. Just enough to get George going.

Interestingly enough the guys on down to dunk seem to think that Melo should be the one to take a backseat to George and Westbrook. My question is why? He’s a more efficient scorer than Westbrook. It would help Westbrook prolong his career if he became more of a 3&D guy with this team and carefully picked his spots to attack instead of attacking all the time. Westbrook would be smart to find Anthony and George a lot and get them going first because that opens things up for Westbrook and the role-players on this team.

Melo and Westbrook are near identical career TS and Westbrooks last 2 years would have been better than any of Melos I believe. And thats not even talking into account Melo taking more iso possessions at worse efficiency. I don't totally think its a coincidence it got ugly when he came back.

Because Melo <<<<< Russ. You don't force your best player to play 3rd fiddle.
