I wonder what that postgame conversation was between Russ and Mitchell. Very out of the ordinary for russ.

If we are basically going to bench Andre in the fourth then we absolutely need to make a trade. Abrines is a disaster on defense.

I think that was a 'real recognize real' moment. Very cool moment with all of him, PG and Melo (and Ray) coming over to talk to him.

Nice win there.

Don't look now, but this is starting to look more like the team we all thought we were getting this summer.

i thought the jazz had some really good looks from three to close this game. having huestis in there instead of roberson is really stupid. the drop-off defensively from roberson to huestis / abrines in those situations has been enormous. almost right after westbrook blew his assignment on the man that roberson would have been defending and adams laid into him. i liked that a lot. adams / roberson / george have carried this team to nearly the best defense in the league which is incredible and he should be barking at everyone else. i want more of that.

when george has good offensive games like this he's a superstar with the defense he's playing.

Been wondering what Huestis' net rating is. He looks more like a player than he did before but we seem to give up a lot of runs when he's in the game.

Just saw Melo was 6-18. It didn’t seem like he was that inefficient.

Can Joe Ingles play on every team we will face so PG13 will show some anger/motivation on offense?

he's just not an nba level player. league average three point shot, at best- and a complete zero offensively otherwise. maybe a dunk here or there. has there ever been a 'three point specialist' (which huestis is purported to be in roberson debates) that was < 50% ts? i can't think of one. he has serge ibaka level instincts and handle also.

defensively he gets smoked by screens. hood got seven points on him with the same play, he's too big and doesn't have the agility to get around them. ingles had a wide open corner three to close the game that he luckily missed on the same action.

our whole bench rotation is backwards imo. huestis and grant should be at the end with patterson and abrines at the front. josh huestis as your first sub is kinda sad.

Didn't seem he took that many shots neither :)

As long as most of his shots are spot-ups, I have no problem with that.

Yeah. Just pulled him up on bball reference. 91 Ortg to 105 Drtg won't get it done. Nice putback dunk and block here and there or not. He sort of reminds me of when Dion was here (not since, I haven't watched Miami much at all) to the extent of "looking" like more a player than he is to the casual viewer if that makes sense.

melo attempted 10 threes and it seemed like most of them were spot-up. that's great. melo was 2-8 from two point range though and had too many pull-ups (still).

We just need a scorer from the bench to in order to compete at a high level (if this team keeps improving obviously)

Agree but I don't see how we could get him :(

Feel like with each of the big 3 playing well we should have won by more, but at the same time I was generally pleased with how we played. Guess the energy would have been a factor.

Also, did we seriously leave all our starters in at the end, with the game iced, so Russ could abuse garbage time D and get an assist for a triple double? That just feels wrong.

Garpax sold Jordan bell for money. If we want him we can get him. Maybe we should look at Portis. He’s cheaper.

Edit- on second thought Presti likely isn’t trading for a guy that broke his teammates jaw in a fight.
