Amen to that. Props to Paul George coming up big on the defensive end tonight. I'm critical of his play at times, but he made sure the game didn't get too close after Sacramento was gifted 3 points on the technicals. Carmelo also had a really good game. (11 3pt fga is good) Had to vote for 2Pat though. Those 2 3s he hit on successive possessions was huge.
Wish I could say it was a tale of two halves for Westbrook but this was probably one of his worst games of the season if not the worst. Five first quarter TOs and some of them were downright brain dead. Didn't get it under control all game. Lots of bad reads and misconnections after the pass was obvious to the sacramento defense. Good shot selection throughout I suppose but still terrible from the stripe. This whole team hasn't been 80%+ from the line in what feels like an eternity.
Of all the things that I didn't figure would be such a massive issue with this team, their ability to be miserable on FTs was not high on the list & yet here we are.

Also I miss Robes.
Especially because the three players that lead us in FTA are career 82%, 85%, and 81% FT shooters. But Westbrook is shooting, by far, a career worst 71% from the FT line, Carmelo is shooting 75% from the FT line (6% worse than his career average), and George is shooting 81% from the FT line (4% worse than his career average).
Yet another confounding, frustrating storyline in a season full of frustrations.
The kid screaming 'DEFENSE' every possession gave more effort all around than us. Not fun to watch. We were just lucky the Kings ran out of gas in the 2nd half.
I just heard on sportscenter that George said “we were more focused tonight. We took it at them early”. Are these guys for real? These guys buy in to their own hype way too much.

“We were definitely more focused,” George said. “We’ve been in this position where we played a sub-.500 team and for whatever reason, we tried to turn it on and win the ballgame late in the fourth. Tonight we took it at them early, got that cushion and that carried us through the finish.”
He must have meant being up by 1 point 5x in the 1st quarter and, then being down by 15 in the 2nd quarter and not getting another lead till 6:47 in the 3rd quarter.
Maybe him thinking letting 2.5 quarters pass by is 'taking it at them early' is the problem.

I think he actually sleepwalked during the whole first half, so no wonder he doesn't remember anything from it.
I really don't know why melo shoots so terrible. you could say he's done, but then I think he got some really great dunks the last 5-10 games that he didn't have in him the last few years. his shooting form is still great.. just don't know why he bricks so many shots.

It’s no secret that he is well past his prime. His career FG% is 45 and he’s shooting 41.5 this year. It’s not that hard to believe is it? Plus his 3PAr this season is the highest it’s ever been in his career (9.3 per 100, career = 5.1)...
