We're down 0-2 in the tie breaker vs Portland. Need to win out against them to tie it in the tie breaker. Very important game.

Very important game, but my hopes are not that high.
In the middle of the season it looked like who will finish third out of San Antonio, Minnesota and us. Right now these three teams fight for who is not going to fall out of the playoffs.
Portland (and their shooting) is always playing us really well and Lillard oftentimes seems to engage Westbrook in a personal shoot-out (which we/he eventually lose).
I would really like seeing Adams a bit more with the second unit because a) I don't percieve Nurkic as that big of a threat that he can't be contained by Grant/Patterson/Melo in stretches (I could be really wrong on this one though) and b) Adams is going to destroy their second unit on the glass and on the pick and roll.

Nurkic has destroyed Adams in some of the previous matchups.

This could be the start of something of interesting.
The All Star Break must have been quite taxing n Melo
To be fair: He's in his 15th season and we're playing him like it's his 10th. I don't mind him getting rest. Donovan should cut his minutes anyway.

One thing to consider about Melo tho: The timing is quite peculiar. Rest on a back to back for older players isn't new or surprising, but why not do it against the horrible Suns? Why do it against a team you're fighting in the seedings? You'd want your best players, right?

:Imagines the guard duo of CJ and Dame potentially running pick and rolls all game. Yeah Melo go ahead and get some rest, you look a little tired.
I can't count how many times last night Carmelo wound up on a switch against Elfrid Payton or Booker. It might legitimately be rest, but I don't think the team will be hurt by it. I was praying Patterson or Grant would have played more over Carmelo at times last game.

It’s amazing that it took years to figure out Dre needs to cut and not shoot threes. Now he’s hurt and we have found a worse offensive player to replace him. Rather than have him cut to the basket, he has the green light to brick threes at 27%.

And we've officially begun the Caron But...err, the Derek Fish...err...Corey Brewer era.
