POTG goes to Melo. Good shooting and really solid defense. He rotated really well. Melo was so hot, his shooting hand started bleeding because it couldn't handle his touch
I’m seriously about to purchase a Corey Brewer jersey. Regardless of what happens next year with Roberson, bringing Brewer back makes all the sense in the world.
I can’t believe I just typed the two sentences above this one.

Now I jinxed it.
Nah, even if he sucks from this point on (which I doubt will be the case) adding him to this team has been great. Just giving them a boost and changing the outlook on a season that was quickly coming off the rails.

He can’t continue to be this good though right?
I'm not sure, some of his advanced numbers still looked bad yesterday, but I disagree with that assessment.
I will say this, the team is definitely playing hard. It still baffles me they can struggle so much against a team like the kings but it wasn’t because of lack of effort.

The Kings were just hitting some shots tonight. Bogdonavic got hot and so did Jackson. Carter had a vin-sanity flashback on that drive versus PG13 with that pretty reverse layup. I thought Adams defense looked a little shoddy tonight. I wonder if his ankle is still bothering him because he looked a little slow.
Anyone would. Brewer isn't going to be a real difference maker but he's a proven NBA player over a long period.
The thing that makes Brewer more complimentary to the starting lineup is that he isn't a one-trick pony. He's fairly quick in the open court, has good handles, and can finish around the rim and that's about it. When Brewer gets hot, it's just a bonus. His 3P success with us will regress but he will be really useful in transition and as another guy who can cut to the basket and finish. He's not a good defender, but he provides enough in combination with his offensive skill set to be a difference maker for this squad's SL.

Oh it most certainly was. They played decent enough defense for maybe 8 total minutes this time. 5 minutes in Russ stopped giving a **** defensively and that's when all the breakdowns started happening. This is about effort. If he just sticks with his man, all these open wing 3s don't happen.
Why do these fools keep buying into their own hype so much? Erik Horne mentioned this on the Thunder Buddies. Said having Sunday off was probably bad because they would tell each other how great they are (again). Looked like it. Offese was very stupid shot heavy. Not really attacking the rim, just settling for horrible jumpers. Brewer tried to push the pace some, but then Russ just dribbled around and took any kind of rhythm and urgency out of them.
Also: For the love of God, can Donovan please stop playing every wing we have? We don't need to play four different guys at the 2. How the hell are we going to build some kind of consistency with this ****?!

Not a good showing. Back to doing the same ****.
I missed the second quarter and first half of the third where we struggled. Effort was pretty good early and late. We’re still have no rhythm to the offense and that won’t ever change. I don’t think we’ll stay at the four seed but I don’t think we miss the playoffs either.

And this is why we keep failing and play this underwhelmingly. Games like this should be used as an easy opportunity to correct some things, not used as an excuse to fall back into horrible habbits. It might be enough to play defense to start the game and then to finish the game, but that does not apply to a team like us.

I thought our offense looked decently to start the game, but then we kinda broken down and played very sloppily withoug ever finding a flow.

The law of averages will get Portland sooner or later. If we think that beating a spiralling Spurs and a tanking Suns is suddenly making us great again, we will not hold onto 4th or better tho.
