Who?
"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

Purvis is non guaranteed, opens a roster spot without paying dead salary
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Its a $7-$8 million dollar savings. Looks like we sent Cash to Orlando to make it happen. I wonder if the Thunder will bring Purvis into training camp.

Thunder have a lot of glut of guards at their disposal to either trade, play, or develop.

Can we make use of this for a free agent or is this pure salary dump? We really need a good three point shooter who can defend.

No. This gives them no new avenues for FA. They are so far over the cap that they won't be able to sign any meaningful FA for YEARS!!!!

True. However, OKC is still sitting on theirs despite several players that would have been great fits signing for less. I have no reason to expect them to use it next year when they will be in the same situation with the tax. Patterson, OKC's most recent MLE signing, has not been a meaningful signing.

By all accounts they attempted to use it but didn't quite hit on the guys they were going for. That doesn't mean they won't in the future.

We'll see about Patterson. He should've been starting last year, it's arguable rather he want meaningful due to his talent or to coaching.
