Tough game.

We often have a hard time against very well-coached teams, and the Mavericks are, for me, at the top of them (in the regular season at least, together with Utah, Boston and maybe the Spurs).
That will give us a reality-check to see what opponents see as our weaknesses (given that they have the personnel to exploit these weaknesses).

I still think and hope that we solidify todays win and get a little cushion with another win for the eventual loss(es) we'll face without Russ.

What I gattered is that Doncic and Smith (and the rest of their guards) have some problems on defense, maybe Schröder can exploit that. They also seem to suffer from (iso-)chucking from their wings, let's hope that they don't get too hot (or at least less hot than OKC).

Honestly, I’m not worried about this game at all. As long as our defense is closing out hard on 3s, it’s a wrap.

George should bulk up on Doncic, he could create problems on Ferguson due to his size, let him earn his points ...

Classic potential letdown game. I dont care if it’s ugly, just get the win.

Hell, why not throw Ferguson on the rookie and let George guard Matthews?

If the defense is good, they will win, good offense or not, OKC are like the 2004 Pistons when they defend.

Totally agree. Because Rick Carlisle is so good we struggled a bit against the mavs last two seasons while they had a very very bad roster.

Add the fact that they added some talent (DJ and good young players) and you have a very tough game. Mavs are underrated IMO

Carlisle has been a great coach but they are a bit dysfunctional this season - watch how often Doncic seems to get frozen out of the offense.

I believe it's not intentional against Luca. DeAndre Jordan is stat padding for next year (pushing away his teammates if necessary for rebounds) and DSJr is a total prick.
I watched the Knicks game that they lost and there was no usual Kanterdomination from DeAndre, he sulked after missed shots and even hurt Luca a bit trying to get a defensive rebound. Adams may have a much more easier time against DeAndre if this continues.

According to stats.nba.com, teams have shot 6.8 percentage points better from 3 against the Mavs then expected. After shotting worse than 26 % from 3 two games in a row (   ), I sure as hell hope we can make some more 3s against them as well.

Is BIlly still ok with Felton having insane usage percentage while ridding that bench unit ?
I mean, I hope for **** he changes that, cause its completely destroying the whole second unit's tempo and pace, despite Felton knocking his jumper here and there, there must be some level of ball movement, that Felton show is one of the worst things to watch in the NBA right now ...

If Doncic doesn't play, its a wrap. I feel good about the game even if he did, but this game is free if he doesn't suit up.

This Utah beat writer is going in on DeAndre Jordan. He has a whole thread of tweets on it.
I didn't know it was this bad.
