We know WB was injured over the summer and had a surgery. My theory is that he is still injured, but isn't getting treatment or sitting out because any game he sits out is going to end in a loss and there is no room for losses in the western conference.
Once all star break comes he'll have the opportunity to get treatment and sit out a couple of weeks without causing his team to slide in the rankings.
We learned how injury was the reason Paul George was so terrible during the second half of last year. After having 20 ounces of fluid drained form his elbow he's playing like Kevin Durant out there. With some treatment it might be possible that we see WB play a lot better after the AS break than before it.
What do you think - is it possible WB is injured and waiting for AS break to get treated? (probably not invasive surgery, but assuming it's enough, some more minor treatment that might enhance his performance like PG had)

okay...but i just saw westy airball a freethrow(minnie game), followed by one that barely hit the rim. i am seriously concerned. he's a career low80% free thrower until LAST year when he dropped 10% and now this year another 10%.
i think he's trying something different and it's not working.

Considering Russ has missed time twice and they are still near the top of the West if he is planning to miss games after the all-star break instead of missing them during what was the easy part of the schedule he could be in on tanking. If he is hurt he would and willing to admit it he would have missed time during the easy stretch. He wouldn't be risking complications that would cause him to miss more important games against better teams after the all-star break.
Your theory is a complete failure unless Russ doesn't believe this team is a playoff team and he thinks he can get his numbers better now than he can later. In that case, if Russ is about numbers and not wins, then you could make the argument that he wants to miss the harder games.

Waiting 4-5 months to give a treatment to your franchise player? Sounds smart.
Also he will certainly be an all star so what does it change?

I could see him saying no thanks and getting some rest and spending time with his wife and kids this AllStar break.Or Atleast I hope so.Dadouv47 wrote:SecondTake wrote:We know WB was injured over the summer and had a surgery.
