Getting the Lakers without bron is a must win for future playoff seeding.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

OKC really needs to put their stamp on this game. This is a can’t-lose game. This is probably one of the more interesting games we will see this year because of the match ups.

If they lose to the baby Lakers with Rondo and LeBron out that will be a sign of a lot of problems for OKC this year. I'd say they only have have 3 easier games this month with Atlanta, NYK and Washington all being easier than LAL without LeBron and Rondo. Although, Washington might start playing better with Wall out like they were last year and they are 3-1 without Wall this year.

This match up is more even than one would first think.

Going up against young players hungry to prove themselves in front of their home crowd. It's going to be a fun game to watch. Here's to hoping Westbrook shows Lonzo who he is.

This one feels like a schedule loss to me—lot of games in a short period, LA nightlife available, Ewing Theory. I wouldn't be surprised.

Had a feeling this one might go this way. I mean we're only down by 5, but the LeBron-less and Rondo-less Lakers are playing well above their heads right now, and we got "Famine Russ" on offense.

Yeah, all of those plus the undermanned Lakers getting extra-hype for a top WC team coming to Staples Center for a nationally televised game.

Just one of those games that, all day, felt like one of those "we're going to somehow lose this game even though every thing on paper says we should win by 20."

KCP: 17 points in 9 minutes.

At this point, given how horrible Russ has been, I'm surprised we're not already down by 10+.

Russ goes down hard trying to put McGee on a poster. He misses the dunk, dams gets the rebound, and just as Adams makes a nice spin move and gathers to go up for an uncontested dunk, Donovan calls a timeout.

Looks like we're going to do some stuff to create some separation (6-10 points) at the half.

Then we get hit with another technical, Lance Stephenson hits a stepback, contested 3, and the Lakers are on a run.

we are playing the close to each half of every game with a built in disadvantage by playing schroder instead of ferguson. the ferguson starters are objectively better. schroder with the starters is especially susceptible defensively to teams with long wings like the lakers. schroder was killed repeatedly either directly or because we pre-switched to avoid getting him exposed and the lakers win the cross matchup.

this is exactly the same thing that happened last year with melo playing when grant was clearly a better option. or early last year when andre roberson was getting benched. schroder + westbrook is ok sometimes but it is usually suboptimal.
