Who do you want starting: Roberson or Furgeson?

Obviously Roberson is probably going to become the starter and we'll see T Furg back on the bench once he's back. But Furg has been making a case as an excellent Roberson replacement - he's been elite defensively and better than Andre offensively (a bit).
The question is who do you think would be the better starter once Andre is back; Roberson or Furgeson?
Assuming Andre comes back 100%, I think he's a better defender and an overall more efficient offensive option thanks to his frequent cuts/drives. Furg is a better shooter so he'd also be a better fit with a bench that cant shoot.

Lolwut? He's been decidedly worse than Roberson offensively

Based on what I think Roberson will be when he returns I'll take Ferguson. If we are talking about pre-injury Roberson it isn't even close at this point the answer would clearly be Roberson.

Neither.
If Nader keeps playing like he's been playing lately I'd rather see him in the starting lineup come March.

What do you think he's coming back as? His injury was bad, but it's not a career ending type thing. His usage is so low and most of what he does is based on anticipation and footwork that I don't see it being that impacted by this injury. He's also had tremendous time to heal. If he was a smaller guy that relies on quickness to dribble through traffic I would be more concerned, but I don't think his role should be that effected.

I'd rather Nader on the bench - For one he's not a great defender, so whatever he brings offensively is offset by either Robesons or Furgesons much superior defense. Two, our bench offense is horrendous, so anyone that can shoot needs to be on that bench. Even though our starters can't shoot, their offense is good enough without him. The same cant be said of that bench.

Erm, what ?
Injury he had was a career ending one basicly a few years ago, but the medical therapy evolved a little and allowed players to get something out of their careers ...
Footwork is directly tied to his lateral quickness, so i can't imagine how can you use different terms on the same stuff.
He was a guy who based his game on using his extreme athleticism and physical tools...

it will be a year post-injury in a few weeks and he's not even close to coming back if we read into billy's statement yesterday. i'm at 50/50 that he returns this year at all at this point, and that's only because i think the thunder have a penchant for playing guys earlier than they should.
a 100% roberson should start over ferguson no question. but i don't like the chances of a 100% roberson coming back to us.

I don't know if I'd say he has "extreme" athleticism. His deceptively strong and has great anticipation and focus on the defensive end. He's extremely good at quarterbacking the defense, never misses a switch and is impossible to bait. I don't think most of that is going to decline. I could see him declining at closeouts, or having some issues with really small guards, but I think he could handle most assignments just as well.

What statement did Billy make?
I mean if he's not coming back this season then I'm worried about his career altogether. I was hoping to see him this month.

What the heck? Paul George and Hayward didn't take this long to rehab, assuming hes out for the season. I dont understand

paul george and gordon hayward did not rupture their patellar tendon. roberson's injury might be the most serious an nba player can sustain- it is a frequent career ender. probably even worse than achilles rupture.
you are correct that his rehab is taking awhile even for his injury. jeremy lin sustained the same injury to his knee, the same knee he tore an acl on before, and his dominant knee, and he was back in the lineup after one year having gone through training camp without a problem. so relative to jeremy lin, roberson's rehab has been slow and fraught with more setbacks. but there are others like kelenna azubuike who tore his patellar tendon at age 28 or so and it basically ended his career.

Hard to treat Roberson like anything other than a contract that expires in 1.5 years at this point. Any production you get from him will be a bonus.

Roberson back to the starting line up. He does not make sense coming off the bench. Roberson is the best defender in the league, whats the point of him coming off the bench to guard a 6th man? Putting Ferguson on the bench will also let him do work against 2nd units.

That is if Roberson come back what he was which I doubt he will.I will take a while before he even comes close to what he was.I also hope he has fixed his shot mechanics while he has been out if he can just shoot 30+% from 3 and 60+ at the line would be huge.

First, because I have seen it more than once (in another thread), his name is not Tarrance Furgeson, it is Terrance Ferguson.
Second (and most important), I hope Roberson comes back healthy, if it is not happening this season, next season would be good also, please don't rush anything.
Third, there are many wing minutes to go around, I could see Westbrook/Ferguson/Roberson/George/Adams be a really tough, defensively amazing unit to close out games, especially against small ball lineups. We have many spare minutes at small forward and even power forward, the position Roberson played in college (I read here oftentimes, so I assume this to be true) and a position where his skillset is a good fit(screens, cutting, offensive rebounds).
Who will and should start depends on the health of Roberson, if healthy it probably should be Roberson. But Roberson would also be a good fit to our second unit.
I find it a bit crazy(but in a very good way) that we now have three (or even four with Abrines) guys I would love to see some minutes at the shooting guard position.

It would be nice if one of those SG's could shoot though. Abrines can in theory but I haven't seen much evidence of it in reality.
