We’re coming off a big win. Portland is coming off a bad loss where they blew a lead to Dallas. Things got chippy last game. I think we get their best shot. Not having Jerami Grant hurts.

What did I miss? He's out for tomorrow's game?

EDIT : just saw it. Damn.I like 2pat but he's so slow...we needed Grant athleticism and length so much against Portland bigs:(

This game is huge. Winning would give us a great chance to finish at least 3rd.

We're gonna see the Noel-Adams lineup for the first time today.

Grant's absence could be huge, his shotblocking, switchability, help D, and rim attacking makes a huge difference between him and Patterson.

Patterson MUST have a good shooting night to atleast offset a little loss which Grant's absence means to our game.

This also means George and Westbrook will get a heavier load in offense, meaning productivity will be down. We must get back to our grinding defense for this one.

I think Donovan could actually start Burton, or, dear lord, Grantham at 4 spot.

No grant is a problem. Pat will need to make shots and Ferg needs to score 15-20. I expect to see more Burton, hopefully he can make shots like he did in college.

I'm pretty sure they've been on the court together at least once. I remember Cage losing his mind with excitement.

This feels like a loss, but the Blazers losing yesterday gave us some breathing room.

This was bad loss for portland. Ive read several things saying it was their worst loss of the season. They will play well.

100%

Bounce back game for them. Lillard/Westbrook rivalry and Nurkic killing Adams even more than he used to without Grant.

We've reached a higher plane that Portland could never even conceive of these past 11 games. Even without Grant, we're we've elevated too far now to worry about the likes of POR.

We may very well not lose again for the rest of the season.

Yeah, Portland is really not a concern. The most important thing IMO is to try to get that homecourt advantage against the Nuggets in the second round.

I was thinking the same thing, re Billy may well start Burton over 2Pat.

Adams will blitz Dame all game, as he does, which will leave Nurk rolling to the rim to face resistance from whichever poor sap we have starting at the 4.

Burton, being a superior rim protector/athlete to 2Pat, may well get the nod.

Personally, I'd start 2Pat and just hope we can outscore them...

lol @ people saying Portland is ''not a concern'' and ''we might not lose again for the rest of the season''

We won both games against Portland but those 2 games were REALLY, REALLY close (and Grant was playing).

People acting like we are Golden State or something like that. If our team has the same mindset we will lose for sure.

Reckon this one is a loss without Grant - really any sort of W will be huge, regardless of how it happens.

What a weird game
Portland just lost a tough game, but will be on a b2b and on the road
We just had a great win, but Jerami won't be available to play
These two teams always get up for each other which will only be enhanced by how the last matchup went.

I don't think Dame will shoot as well as he did in Dallas (He was unusually hot), but if CJ goes off, that will be less of a hindrance for them. I'm hoping SA really takes it to Nurkic this game and doesn't allow him to just wreck havok. Rodney Hood is random from night to night. I predict a win, but it will be pretty touch and go. I would be shocked if Russ has a bad game today.

Are you kidding me.

EDIT: Apparently Schröder is becoming a father today.
