After yesterday’s action packed deadline, it seems like a good time to start fresh with this thread. Have at it.

So Gallo to the Knicks then?
ThunderBolt wrote:Of interest is in the S&T for Gallo the Clippers did send out a FRP to Atlanta acquired from Houston in another sign and trade for Chris Paul. The pick went to the Hawks and not the Nuggest since Atlanta took on the bad salary. That pick was used to draft Kevin Huerter.

denver wanted to sign paul millsap. they had the space to sign him. they were only involved in the s&t with danilo because the clippers didn't have the space. a third team was brought in to take the clippers' trash because denver wanted to use their space for paul millsap. the first that the clippers sent out wasn't compensation for facilitating gallinari to the clippers, it was compensation for taking bad salary.

Isn't that what I said?
It seems that regardless if Gallo had been traded yesterday or he's traded in a sign and trade this summer, OKC will be taking back bad salary if they want a pick or young player.

Briefly, though, cap space is pretty barren around the league and the FA class is bad. I wouldn't rule out Gallo staying on a relatively team-friendly extension. My guess on the Heat deal is it fell apart over years since they want to keep 2021 open (Hamm and I are of one mind on this IIRC).
My guess is next year's team looks a lot like this one, perhaps with Schröder headed out. Most of the teams that really wanted centers have addressed their need (except for SAC, but they're a mess anyway, sooooo). Barring a trade of Steven to the Kings my guess is they mostly stand pat.
Although Sam's always into three-ways, so I could see some smaller pieces moving around if they give up on any young guys.

NY loves Gallo and vice versa so they are the second most likely in my opinion. Miami made a big mistake extending Iggy in my opinion. He is more in to the money then production at this point IMO. I would not rule out Gallo signing in OKC unless OKC decides to go full tank mode.

Gallo can play PF so definitely a good option for the Knicks.
i don't know what Miami offered and Why Presti passed but I wonder if he talked to Gallo and his agents about the possibility of a Sign & trade before he decided not to accept Miami's offer.
Still think Gallo walking is the most likely to happen and we won't get such a good return in a S&T but we will see...
