I’m still ok if we win this .Rockets are on a roll but I’m not convinced they are that good. A thunder win tonight could be the difference in them being in the lottery or top eight.

To me each chance that increase our odds to get a top 5 pick is more important/valuable than anything that could make the difference for Houston to end up with an 11-14 pick instead of top 20.

Two years ago the first four picks were the teams at number 7,8,1, and 11. Last year the third and fourth pick were from teams at 8 and 7. I just want houston in it to give is a shot.

Yeah but u forget that it's top 4 protected then. Only the 5th worst team would have a shot at a pick n°5-7 for example. If Houston is 9-14 worst record in the league, it's a 9-14 pick or top 4. So basically the pick is only really valuable if Houston has a top 5-8 worst record.
Old Man Game wrote:That was, pretty brutal. Last two games. Pretty much not what I'd hoped for. I want to lose for draft status but I want it to be competitive. This was a complete and utter obliteration.
Old Man Game wrote:By the way, Christian Wood, what the hell got into him? I'd heard he was playing really well this year but I hadn't seen him until tonight. He looks like a totally different player. Carries himself with the self assuredness you expect to see in a perennial all star, not a journeyman who's been waived multiple times in his career. And clearly he can back it up. Just wild. You just so seldom see a guy reach his ceiling this (relatively) late in his career.

Thankfully wizards saved us from westbrook contract and we saved y’all from it. And trust me I’m with you guys that I like westbrook the man and his mentality. But that contract and at this stage of their career I take paul then wall then westbrook. Plus y’all were able to flip cp3.Dadouv47 wrote:Well 40 days ago I thought the OKC-Houston games (and Miami to a lesser extend) would be the only ones I would root for the Thunder to win but I was wrong...Let's go Rockets!

I’ll paraphrase what another okc fan said- I’m grateful for russ’ time in okc and I look forward to watching him finish his career elsewhere.

Well it's a no brainer that we won the trade because we got 2 FRPS, 2 swaps then a Suns FRP, a Gs pick for Oubre that will likely be a high 2nd from Minny and a couple of 2nds in the Rubio/James Johnson/Ariza trades. Houston got a lotto protected FRP, which is still great considering the disaster it was.
No clue if we will draft or get a good players with all these picks but if we aren't unlucky or really bad at drafting, it should be good.
Regarding Westbrook, I would fine to sign him for the vet min once he finishes his contract to be a bench player (if he's willing to do this, which is pretty unlikely). Who knows if we could be contending by then and his locker room presence is underrated.
