This is some sick joke at this point, winning this game on the same day the Pistons, Wizards, and Wolves all win because of Justin Jackson?! Even the Thunder's official twitter knows not to sound pumped about this.

Well I wanted a 3-9 record at worst case scenario in February after the Wolves games. We are 1-3 but easier schedule to come. I doubt we won't win several games against Grizzlies/Portland/Spurs/Hawks/Heat. That's really really bad.

Maybe. I think most fans don't realize how short our window is (if we want to stick with SGA at least)

At this point I wouldn't mind to trade a bad FRP and Horford for a real tank commander. The issue is that somehow we will still win some games with garbage players.

It's sad but Ariza is our MVP this season.

Note to Presti : Don't trade for players that are expiring and know are likely out of the NBA if they don't have a good season.

I think it's easy to complain but Presti is in a really tough spot right now. If SGA wasn't as good as he's, he could try to make the right moves for us to get worse but it's not a bad look to your future ''star'' (or at least one of them)

Guess he has to pull the trigger on George Hill but it's not enough. It's not like we have many good players that we could trade...

Yeah, I'm for sure not complaining. I think this is about Presti having created a really good culture of development and team-oriented focus. Which is good. But also bad, considering the assumed focus of a tank year. I think Coach Diagonal is probably a great hire in terms of him being a up and coming coach. But he's more of a great hire for a young team that is ready to start competing for the bottom end of the playoffs, not a team that is trying to get a top pick.

I just wonder if Presti is like, "Jeez, stop winning already," or if he considered the current outcome a likely possibility.

I mean, if the alternative is a top pick with a trash can culture and consistently poor/mediocre management decisions and bad coaching/development, I'd have to choose the current situation. But it's also looks like it's pointing the team's long term ceiling as a mid-tier playoff team. Maybe we will make the second round consistently!

When I say treadmill team I think it just means a team stuck in the same spot. I dont know if that spot will be fighting for the eight seed or four seed. The current jazz are pretty good. Right now we are probably more similar to the current spurs with a lot of young guys with not super high ceilings and a couple of veterans. Maybe we still get a top five pick. Maybe we hit on a pick outside the top five. I dont know but we definitely aren’t doing ourselves many favors.

Which assets? We would have to make a big overpay in order to jump from 7-10 to top 4. Like a pick swap and a 2022 unprotected FRP? And even this I'm not sure a team would accept.

That's my main issue about our roster. We have SGA and that's it. No assets our young guys that teams would really love to get.

Yeah pretty much. So basically it gives up two options : trade SGA for picks and go to a longer and depressing rebuild or trade a ton of picks for good players (I don't want any of those options and don't think that's Presti's plan )

At this point, it’s too early to say. We’ll have to see where the Houston/Miami pick swap lands and who is above us. Maybe a team like the wizards wants to improve their defense around Beal and have interest in Dort. Maybe you move from 8 to 6 and then get another deal done with the team at 4 or 5. I heard Vecenie say this week that several teams have Jaylen Green as a mid lotto prospect. Maybe the team above us likes a guy who comes on strong in March madness and someone falls. There are always teams that get stupid and draft for fit over talent. That’s how Charlotte got Lamelo. It won’t be easy to move up but it’s definitely not impossible.

We’ve blown teams out in the first half 7 games in a row, 6(?) of which have been without SGA. At some point teams will take us semi-serious and actually try right?

Maybe playing non-contenders will actually be good, teams like the Blazers and Grizz won’t try to sleepwalk against us. We’ve got 10 games in 16 days starting Tuesday so Horford better be getting plenty of rest in there.
