We're finally seeing a true tanking lineup consistently out there and its invigorating. I know this is more or less this is most directly attributable to Shai sitting out but its also the simple stuff like shelving Horford and Muscala and you just have to ask yourself why we weren't doing this sooner.

I have to imagine it has a lot to do with not wanting to instill the culture of not trying to win.

I have a hard time believing next year will be a tank year either. I think they’re going to end up late lottery. These dudes are gritty, shai’s a stud, and coach diagonal seems pretty damn competent. I think they’re highly likely to be contending for a play-in spot. I think they could this year if they wanted, and hopefully everyone comes back better.

But yeah, I agree. If they don’t come out of these next two years having developed some of these overachievers into actually having value, it’s going to be bad news unless they get lucky with a couple late picks.

The good news is they have a lot of late picks. While I wouldn’t bet on it, surely it’s not crazy to think that OKC can really hit on a back end of the 1st round pick at some point, considering they will likely have a bunch of chances.

I also think Presti will learn from the mistakes that Boston made managing their own war chest.

You have to believe that one of these drafts we will be able to successfully make a big trade up and get the guy we wanted.

Josh Hall was a small bright spot last night. He still looks pretty raw but you can see the athleticism.

I wonder if OKC will monkey around with Poku’s shot mechanics in the offseason. Generally I think it’s a bad idea, but his release point is so low which seems like it kind of undermines the benefits of being a tall shooter. He’s probably not strong enough at this point to have nba range with a more traditional release at this point, I’d imagine.

It's tricky but I think you have to because it's so inconsistent. Lonzo is a good success story for improved shot mechanics. I'm also concerned how his strength program will affect his shot. I was listening to an interview with vrenz bleijenbergh and he was saying how they year he got stronger, his shooting percentages dipped and it took a year to get it back.
