It's pre season, but good first showing for Giddey

Expect the team to look about as good as we did in the last 25 games of last season though.. there's going to be some tough stretches to watch for sure

It will be interesting to see how the offense evolves over the season.

Even though it was a small sample size, I thought we looked a lot better with Giddey bringing the ball up and initiating the offense. Shai will be better suited as a true 2 guard and secondary playmaker.

Giddey's BBIQ is so high. He's struggling a bit but still making the right move every single time.

I like Jre a lot but he's so undersized...

That's why I'm so high on him. Most the things he struggles with he can improve with time and experience. High BBIQ is generally something you do or don't have.

Easy to see why Presti took his chance on Giddey at 6. Nice peripheral vision, quick and accurate passes. He is a smart player.

Dort has looked absolutely incredible in the preseason. The Giddey talk has overshadowed the fact that Lu has learned how to explode off of one foot. His attempts at the rim used to come from below sea level but he looks so much bouncier now. Think he's lost some weight and put on some "lean muscle".

Edwards has been waived. I think he is a very good guy , but to be on an NBA roster is so difficult.

High floor guy, pretty much a can't miss prospect I think because of the IQ. He's always going to be useful and likely an impact player. Minimum he's the very useful glue guy, ceiling is hard to determine right now, he could definitely build in the mould of Luka. He has good lower body strength.

Glad Mann is showing up. Still not a big fan but hope I'm wrong :)

Same for Bazley...

Not many updates to the “Poku will be future mvp” thread on the general board this preseason, I imagine.

Favors really ties that starting lineup together. Having an experienced big who can defend and score helps everyone's game.

I still want to see Giddey bring the ball up more, I felt SGA and Dort were freezing him out of the offense at times.

It’s going to be interesting seeing how this plays out going forward. Giddey sees the floor so well. It’s his number one strength. And SGA has already proven to be really good off the ball. Do you put the ball in Giddey’s hands as much as possible to see how he grows into the role or try to grow his off ball game and SGA’s playmaking skills? I’m having a hard time coming up with an example of an extremely successful backcourt where there isn’t a lead ball handler who initiates the offense the vast majority of the time.

Not yet. Likely gonna be a lot of overreactions after one or two good games from Poku :)

Not a Poku believer but still think he's gonna improve over the season.

I was happy about us drafting Giddey but I didn't understand how he would fit with SGA.

If Giddey becomes the player we think we can be, I would rather have him initiating the offense (but yeah this isn't good for SGA and overall I have no clue how they can be successful)

Like a lot of what I see from Giddey, he's been impressive.

Offtopic but I'm starting to think that it would be better to trade Kenrich for a couple of decents 2nds. We have way too many players to develop.

I’m not sure SGA is a PG. He’s always seemed like a natural 2 to me.

You probably have to look at CP3 and Booker as a model for these guys. I think Giddey being a tall wing player makes it work better.
