Shut down SGA

Post#1 » by timO » Thu Mar 17, 2022 12:14 pm

Now, okc has a chance to finish 1-2 pre-lotto.

Dont **** Up like last year with the 5 and 6 post Lotto.

Okc need to Lost the last 13 games or at BEST 1-12 to secure a top 3 pick, Will be vital to the future.

Going to be very difficult to get a bottom 3 pick even without SGA...with him it's clearly impossible.
I don't think we will sit SGA so at this point I'm just worried about Indiana. Going to be difficult not to win 3+ games considering we play Magic twice, Portland twice and the Pistons.

Btw finishing with a bottom 3 record just give +4.4% more of getting a top 4 pick so I don't think it's worth sitting SGA 12 more games. He's playing very well right now and I hope he can keep up like this and we still lose enough games.

We need lotto luck from any of 1-5 bottom record. I'm 100% for the tank and I was so happy about the Spurs game winner but sitting your only really good player to improve your lotto odds by a very little margin while he's playing the best basketball of his career is debatable whether it's worth it or not. The Gap between bottom 4 and bottom 5 is bigger though so finishing with a better record than Indiana would be terrible.

I think if OKC FO had their way entirely they'd for sure sit SGA but they understand both the optics from the league office of sitting him for a false injury and the potential relationship damage that comes with sitting a star against his wishes. They're plenty bad right now. I don't see a huge talent gap between 1-4 this year. They need luck in any scenario to land in that range.

I also think we will win maybe three or more games this year but man it would be great if we lost them all but the game with lac. Then we could turn poku loose on them again.

The super scrub maledon and the coach need to be fired.

So they are gonna win again 2-3 more **** games at the end and be the #4 pre lotto and #5-6-7 post lotto.

Useless 2 years of tanking for nothing, gj presti and co.

A bottom 4 record in the league has really good chances to get a 4 top pick. If we get unlucky once again, it's lotto luck and not Presti's fault. I get the frustration because last year lottery was beyond terrible for us but we are in a tier with good lottery odds for a top 4 pick (it's not like we are a #11 or #12 seed like Spurs/Kings)

We could still tank to another level but then you don't play SGA during two seasons, don't develop Giddey and Mann and be a miserable team to have 5% more of having a top 4 pick.

What the Thunder are doing is prefect. Its not in your face. Plus the lottery odds

If Theo Maledon goes out and scores 25 and wins you a game that's what happens. Just think if we would have lost the coin flip last year the Thunder would have been awarded the #3 pick and probably would have selected Evan Mobley.

Plus, Presti has the ammo to move up is someone wants to trade back. The Thunder have the assets to build this thing right. Once they get their big man they will be a pesky team in this league for years to come.

a #2 pre lotto warrant top 5 pick 2-3-4-5

a #4 pre lotto warrant u 4-5-6-7

Tanking for giddeys not worth it

Remaining games:

@DEN
@POR
ATL
DET
PHO
POR
@UTA
@LAL
@LAC

We have to split with POR at worst while definitely losing to DET to have a good shot at top 3. Tough but looks doable. LAC/LAL may not care by that point of the season unfortunately and may be sitting starters. 4th isn't the end of the world with the odds being flattened though.

What I don't understand is that the LA clippers pick which we own,is just outside the lottery with a worst record than Atlanta and Orlando which is in the lottery. This is according to tankathon.

Well you can't be a playoff team and be in the lottery. Eastern teams have a better record so that's why.

We got unlucky LAC overperformed without their stars and the west is very weak this season.

Gonna need Clippers to lose against Wolves and LAL/Pels for the pick to be in the lottery. Wolves are playing very well right now but PG13 should come back before the end of the RS.

They are gonna win at least two more games, Portland is putting a full roster of scrubs, even Rockets blow out them. The detroit game seems winnable too.

So this 3-4 wins lately will fck our pre lotto chances.

We could be #1 with a good tanking, and will be #4.
