Let's check in with our former OKC Thunder players - what are some of them doing after their time on our squad ?

Some notable players have come through this franchise, including 3 MVP players in total. It got me thinking we should emulate some of the other boards on the forum to discuss what these guys are doing, where they are playing, if they have retired, and maybe some good or bad nostalgia about their tenure with our team. Open for discussion and here's a little list for you all

Let's start with a few notable names

Three players from the original OKC Thunder team are still in the NBA...

KD - now in Phoenix
Russ - now in LA with the Clippers with Harden
Jeff Green - in Houston

Thabo - now a mod here
Collison - retired, with OKC ops group now

Harden - now in LAC with Russ
Perkins - now on ESPN with hot takes

Nazr - OKC Blue GM last I heard
Nate Robinson - getting KO'd in boxing matches last I saw

Reggie Jackson - Denver, and now a champion

Ibaka - playing in Europe now

Caron Butler - retired, coaching I think now
Andrew Roberson - did play some GL last season, but I think his career is pretty much over in the NBA

Steven Adams - traded to Houston after MEM and NOLA - had knee injury

Enes Freedom - out of NBA, changed name

Dion Waiters - yelling And-1 getting contact going to the fridge. Just kidding, but I don't miss him on our team

Cam Payne - now in PHL, had some resurgence after OKC in his career in PHX

Taj Gibson - still playing in NYK amazingly with Thibs after all these years

Norris Cole - in the GL

McDermott - in Indiana now

Oladipo - traded around a few times after quad and knee injury in MIA, was on our cap sheet briefly, traded to HOU, traded to MEM, waived, now FA

Sabonis - Sacramento Kings C and playing great lately

Jerami Grant - now earns max money from POR

Carmelo - retired

Paul George - LAC with Russ and Harden

Nerlens Noel - ???

Schroder - recently traded to BKN from TOR

Gallo - waived from DET recently

JRE - NOLA

Muscala - DET via WAS via BOS

CP3 - in SF with Curry and the Warriors

Bazley - in the GL

Horford - BOS celts

Ty Jerome - CLE

Hamidou Diallo - ??

I didn't mention everyone of course :)

Mann and Micic playing well for the Hornets post trade, they are helping that younger team steady some offense.

Bertans also tweaked his knee so he's out for a bit - I'm glad he's not on our roster anymore even if it seemed like he was well liked by the other guys

Chris Paul's contract is a Team Option, if it is not picked up by GSW, would CP3 consider our team for a vet-minimum ? [Not sure what his next contract will be if GSW declines]

In other OKC Thunder player news - Darius Bazley received GL 2nd team honors, keeping his career going

Former Thunder C Steven Adams was traded to HOU and recovering from Patellar Tendon injury.

Mike Muscala made a late season appearance for our club again this season.

Gallo was eliminated by INDY, as he's now a Buck.

Al Horford is playing well for the Celts still

Poku was signed by Charlotte

Hayward soon to be a former Thunder player :)

I wanted CP3 back but rumors are saying that CP3 might consider the Lakers or the Spurs. It makes sense to be honest because he can't offer him a big role.

You forgot to mention Jerami Grant who's getting paid 30+ millions dollars to stay at home.

Ohhhh yeah, Grant is a feel-good story to me. He worked hard to make a name for himself in the league.

Honestly, I'm happy that he's being paid so much by a division rival ;) Just like when Westbrook was being paid by LA. Loved his time here in OKC, but it's nice that the huge extension he signed with us was eventually paid by 3 conference rivals [HOU/LAL/UTA -buyout-] and Washington.

Hayward 47 minutes in the playoffs, 0-for-3 FGs, 3 assists, 13 rebounds.

0 points.

I think he will get his 4 years/200+ millions deal which is obviously a big overpay but he has a ton of leverage if both Philly and LAC wants him. Morey is a gambler so he's gonna try to pay him and Balmer is rich, likes his team and can't tank without picks.

GB rumblings of PG to Orlando (personally, I think this is a stellar fit and he should highly consider it)

In other news -- Giddey traded to Chicago for Caruso. Giddey is now a former Thunder player and Caruso is a returning Thunder player (Caruso was on our GL team for a time). He may have had limited minutes on the big club but went to LA after that I'm pretty sure.

Russell Westbrook traded from LA to Utah again, likely to be waived and signed to a vet-min with Denver.

Very interesting decisions that Denver is making now, isn't it ? Russ and Rocky (the DEN mascot) have a long running feud I don't see this working out.

Hayward is now retiring. Man, he was trash for us, but had a nice career overall.

We basically retired three players from the NBA this seasons. Muscala, Hayward, Poku.

He can still come back.

Via GB - Jeremy Lamb retires from basketball --

GSWFan1994 wrote:
Jeremy Lamb Announces Retirement From Basketball

Jeremy Lamb retired from basketball via an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"Basketball has been good to me throughout my entire life, so this decision didn't come easy, but I have decided to retire from the game that has given me everything," wrote Lamb in the post.

Lamb, who was drafted with the No. 12 pick in 2012, most recently played with the Pacers and Kings.

Lamb won the 2011 NCAA men's basketball championship with UConn.

He's still quite young (32 years old), I thought he would keep playing for a couple more years.

12th pick, 2012 draft
Played for 10 seasons
10/4/2 career averages
5,8k points, 2,0k rebounds, 0,9k assists
Missed a bunch of games in his last 3 seasons in the league due to injury

Played 23/24 season for the Stockton Kings of the G-League, averaging 19/6/3 in only 8 games.

Guy earned 62 million dollars playing the game of basketball. He will be fine as long as he's prudent with his money.

Thanks for the update GSWFan, I replied in the OKC board for this one.
