Josh Giddey appreciation thread

Our #6 selection in 2021 - played well for us in my opinion, I wish him luck in Chicago, but it obviously was not the best long-term solution at SF or PF, and we couldn't play him as a primary 1 or 2. Won some Rookie of the Month awards, too. He put up some great games but in 3 years with our club his range shooting never quite panned out as much as we hoped for. The 3rd year was definitely the most challenging to him as as player and person. He was targeted pretty relentlessly as a weak link to shoot, and teams accepted that outcome on the court. IF Giddey hit 4 threes, so be it, he probably missed 8 to get there.

Good luck in Chicago - where former Thunder coach Billy Donovan can retool his offense to have a legitimate initiator, and if he develops a solid outside shot, he will be getting a larger payday than what OKC was willing to pay. He has 11 triple-doubles to his name already and that should definitely increase with the Bulls. Lonzo being injured still must have been heartwrenching for a Chicago team that played so well with him when healthy.

RIP Giddey era. He was the first draft pick of our tank. I like him still and I think he will end up being a good player still.

meh, you had 21 years to learn how to properly shoot a basketball and you couldn't pull it off. Shows a complete lack of work ethic when a guard doesn't fix his broken shot. Good riddance.

I still think that Josh was a steal in the 2021 draft. The development after this draft wasn't in his favor. Nobody could know that JDub would be even a better steal and also that Cason would be as ready as he is. Josh had also bad luck with personnel matters to brake him down. I whish him all the best for the future, and who knows he is only 21 years old, one day he can give a comeback in OKC.

I think he did well given what happened in terms of opportunities and real life.

He asked out and we facilitated somewhere. At least he didn’t pout on the court and throw a tantrum.

Would like him to still continue to improve and be a good starter.

Yep all players who aren't elite at everything are lazy

who said anything about being elite? Learning proper shooting form is hardly something that is reserved for only the elite shooters. It's common practice for 95% of the people playing professionally.
