What do you think the new ball clubs name should be?

I like Bandits for some reason...

Well San Antonio is the Spurs
Dallas is the Mavericks

So, in the western theme, I like Bandits. Basically anything dealing with western american culture would be great for the team.

Outlaws (I know, I know)
Oilers
Twisters

all work for me.

For some reason the two most likely right now are rumored to be Thunderbirds and Barons.

Thunderbirds would be horrible, in my opinion. It would immediately turn into "T-birds" and people would just think of classic cars.

Barons would be ok, but not my favorite.

I was one of the people that was high on the name Thunderbirds but there really isn't any sizzle behind it. I'm really starting to come around on The Outlaws. It has some alliteration Oklahoma Outlaws.

Heh. There's a Thunderbird Lake and a Thunderbird Casino near Oklahoma City.

For some reason i like the weather themed ideas. the western and weather ideas definitely fit so i would be fine with whatever.

Oklahoma -> Dust Bowl -> Great Depression -> The Grapes of Wrath -> the Oklahoma Wraths

........ Brown and Black might work, Red and Black, or Gold and Black.... i think something similar to the Steelers or Browns jersey but in basketball form.

I'm not wild about the name Barons but the uniform concept that we saw in the Oklahoman for the name Barons was awesome. If those unis come with the name then I'm all for Barons.

What will be the team nickname?

It won't be Sonics. Bennett said his group will unveil a new nickname and new colors in the next few weeks after considering all the suggestions they've received.

It wont be the Outlaws, there's a gang called the Outlaws.

the NBA changed the name of the Bullets to the Wizards..... Stern will not allow the "Outlaws"

If you had balls of steel, Bombers is still by far the best name suggestion I've seen.

Oklahoma City Barons

If not that, I could go with Oklahoma City Thunder.

If it weren't for the city's past, then it might be an option. It does come off the tongue easily, like Barons, for example. But, with the history of this city and the terrible disaster that occurred in '95, there is simply zero chance of the team donning that name.

None of those sound like professional basketball team names

I really think you should keep the Sonics, though you never will.

Outlaws is the best of the bunch, though that won't be allowed either.

Other ideas to consider: The Oklahoma City Claymores (after Bennet, like Bob Johnson and the Bobcats), and my favoriite, The Oklahoma City Quapow (like the tribe native to the area)
