Any way cavs could get Wilcox without...

Post#1 » by LiquidFire » Wed Aug 13, 2008 11:09 pm

Giving up: Lebron, Big Z, Williams, Boobie, Delonte?

Would you want more expirings and pick(s), maybe?

We still have quite a few expirings left.

thanks

Wilcoxs expiring contract is worth about 6mil I think Snow and a 2nd isnt enough, your 2nd pick picks around 55 and Im sure other contenders will give much more.OKC got a 1st for kurt thomas from the Spurs at trade deadline last year.Wilcox is 26 athletic PF could have a breakout year ,has potential mininum will be snow and 1st or prospect ie hickson.

so the question is, can Cavs get Wilcox for free. And the answer I hope is no. JJ, snow and a 2nd? Ok, now you're talking

Id keep him and risk him in free agency rather than get nothing.Trust Presti he will pull a gem with wilcox -prospect or late/lottery protected 1st guaranteed.

I would rather keep him as well. I dont really care to have Snow here and the only way i consider that deal is if a 1st rounder is included.

Exactly, Wilcox isn't going anywhere for free. Besides, the fans want him, once OKC has somebody to get him the ball he will be a force.

The Cavaliers definitely aren't coming off of JJ Hickson. It has been said that if the draft was re-done today, he'd be one of the top-3 players taken.

I'd expect Sam to hold onto Wilcox, and to deal Collison, who is already 27 and hasn't really done much beside rebound. The Cavaliers may be interested in a Swift (S&T) & Collison for Snow & unprotected 1st rounder.

Snow is waiting on a settlement with the insurance company... so he won't actually cost OKC anything. Plus, OKC would dump Collision's contract, and save another 6 million... likely giving him about 40 million for free-agency next year.

LOL Hickson a top 3 pick?

I want some of what you and Danny Ferry are smoking.

The Cadavaliers don't have anything worth trading Collison or
Wilcox for.

I'd be willing to do Snow and a first for Wilcox. He's got talent but I seriously question the whole "he might break out" way of thinking. He's had ample opportunities and he's been in the league a long time. He's probably about what he's going to be. But that still fits in well for the Cavs at present.

How can you be for sure? He hasn't even had anyone to give him the ball... look at the poor excuse for PGs we have now...

This is completely irrelevant. Wilcox's problems go far beyond his nonexistent offense (see previous posts). All a good PG would do for him would give him more opportunities to clank wide open dunks off the rim...
