Kyle Weaver

Hi Thunder fans, a quick question: What's the story with Kyle Weaver? I really wanted my Raptors to draft him. Every pre-season box score I've seen had him as a DNP, is he hurt or just not good? Thanks a lot.

PJ said he was practicing today, don't think he will play this week, but had to check with everyone(DR, trainer, etc.)

I hope he plays Friday
Was that your opinion or did it say somewhere that he probably wouldn't play?

This was a run down on injuries at Newsok.com, and there is video at the site(labeled "Thunder Practice"). Kind of a mix, starts out talking with Mason, then PJ talks about injuries, then Mason talk about playing season opener against his previous team in the opener.

Kevin Durant, who suffered a sprained ankle in Tuesday’s practice, did not participate in contact drills on Wednesday’ and is questionable. Whether Durant plays in either game will be a game-time decision.

Power forward Chris Wilcox (hamstring) did not practice and is listed as doubtful for both games. Forward Joe Smith, wearing a mask, practiced for the first time since he suffered a broken nose a week ago but said he probably won’t play in either game.

Nick Collison (ankle) practiced with no setbacks. Mo Sene (offseason knee surgery) went through the entire practice. Robert Swift (hand) participated in part of practice. Kyle Weaver (hamstring) practiced, but Carlesimo said the rookie guard probably isn’t ready to play in a game.

"Some of those guys, hopefully, will be able to play,” Carlesimo said. "We might need to look at Robert or Mo for limited minutes. I want to play the (healthy) guys, but I don’t want to kill them in back-to-back (games) and play them 35 minutes both nights. It depends on how many guys we have.”

he's made an appearance... he's healthy and everything... just burried as the 3rd or 4th guy at both PG and SG.

Would you consider trading him for Joey Graham (expiring) and a future pick?

is the pick a 1st rounder? Because Graham has no value what-so-ever. I'm honestly suprised he made the team. Thank god for guaranteed contracts, and owners that would rather hang onto them then bring in someone who might help.

I would doubt Weaver will be leaving before playing. The thunder obviously brought him in because they thought that he was what they wanted. As of now, they just don't need him to play. Maybe if some of these rumors are true and Watson gets traded he'll get a shot. I got to see the few minutes he did play, and was actually pretty impressed considering it was his first NBA experience, which can be overwhelming. He had a few nice passes and some good D.

I think he was a really smart pick up. Watch the Raptors and you'll see what happens with no perimeter defense. Good luck to you guys.
