Watson rumor........

Post#1 » by sonic-ben » Sun Jan 11, 2009 10:42 pm

An NBA source claims that a three-team trade is in the works that could send Raymond Felton to Dallas, and Earl Watson and DeSagana Diop to Charlotte.

Oklahoma City, who would give up Watson in the deal, may be looking for additional draft picks or even more cap space in the deal.

The report was published in the Boston Globe, and did not mention a player coming from either Charlotte or Dallas and landing in Oklahoma City.

this is complicated. if it happens..

yeah, the rumor itself seems to be only part of the deal, because there just aren't enough pieces mentioned to make it work. you've gotta figure the writing is pretty much on the wall with Watson... Westbrook is the long-term starter, and they just brought in Chucky to back him up.

Maybe OKC are gonna have a gamble on Adam Morrison, injured and then out in the cold.maybe this is this trade.

OKC trades- Earl Watson
receives-Adam Morrison and Sean May(exp)

DALLAS trades-Diop and receives Felton

Charlotte trades-Morrison and May and recieves Watson and Diop.

Presti reasons gets an expiring in May and a pretty cheap gamble on Morrison.

Thats my stab at the deal in advance

OK this is what I could make work with the salaries

OKC out: Watson/Mason/Swift
OKC in: Stackhouse/Nazr/Bass

CHA out: Felton/Nazr
CHA in: Watson/Diop

DAL out: Stackhouse/Diop/Bass
DAL in: Felton/Mason/Swift

I know this would not be ideal but I just don't see a real good match and I got this to work in Trade Checker
Anyone else have any ideas?

Another way to go is Gerald Wallace maybe Presti thinks he could solve our shooting guard problem,he could then rotate with Durant. He is a Presti player good allround skills and above all a good defender.

this works out salary wise

OKC trades- Watson and Mason and receives Wallace

CHARLOTTE trades Wallace and Felton receives Watson and Diop

DALLAS trades Diop and receives Felton

Would thought though if Wallace was involved his name would have been quoted in rumour but never know.

Wallace has a big contract, though. I'm not sure who the Sonics would get out of this trade. Morrison doesn't solve our shooting guard problem, that's for sure. I don't see him as a gamble worth taking, to be honest with you. Matt Carroll? Antoine Wright? Not sure...

dal:diop for felton
cha:felton/wallace/may for watson/diop/mason
How many firsts need to be added?

as a cats fan the bobcats would give up too much scoring for too little in return...the only player they really want in this deal is diop...they could just cut OKC out of the deal and just deal felton/brown for diop...god only knows why cause diop contract is really bad

maybe Presti throws in one of the many late firsts he has we will have to wait and see but then again could be one those pie in the sky trades that never happens.

The Morrison and May trade makes more sense as May is an expiring and Morrison is a young player maybe worth a gamble on his contract is cheaper than Watsons and runs out the same time just before 2010 free agency.I know he doesnt solve the SG problem but Presti is trying to build a young squad of talented players Morrison was a former high first and then got injured maybe a fresh start could see him reach the potential that saw him picked so high in 2007.

I don't see Morrison making it in this league, but you make valid points.

This is an interesting rumor for sure. What is the deal with Stackhouse? Has he been hurt or has he just not been playing?

I doubt it would be Wallace and Felton at least not for Watson and Diop. I don't think that is anywhere near the asking price for those two.

DJ/WATSON
BELL/CAROLL
WALLACE/MORISON
DIAW/AJINCA
OKAFUR/DIOP

Ading Diop and Watson makes CHA the best defensive team in nba.

Interesting is 7 of 10 players would have at least 4 years contracts, bell/watson/morison 2 years.
