Salmons to OKC?

I don't have any info at all... just going off of the wiretap posting. What do you guys think about bringing Salmons to OKC? What would you be willing to part with?
I really like him and think that he's got a lot of talent and is still young enough that he wouldn't be a departure from our all eyes on the future mentality. I would definitely give up any and all of Wilcox, Watson, and Joe Smith... then any of the deep bench guys too (that they'd garner a whole lot of interest). I would probably be willing to send either the DEN or SA 2009 1st rounders. Is that a reasonable price in both directions? Would SAC be looking for more than that?

I really like Salmons too. A versatile player who can do it all. He's young but experienced, something this team is lacking. We've got some old veterans but they hardly ever play and aren't good enough to make an impact on the court. Salmons would make an impact on this young team with his defense, intensity and his efficient offense.
I would not mind sending them Chris Wilcox (expiring/a 14/8 player when given minutes) or Joe Smith's expiring contract along with DEN/SA's first round pick. They hardly ever play, we've got enough first round picks already and it won't hurt our cap situation all that much.
Wilcox + Smith for just Salmons doesn't work under the cap.
Smith or Wilcox + SA or DEN first rounder for Salmons looks OK to me, wonder how Kings fans feel about our scenarios.

He looks like he could be a perfect fit. Not sure what SAC has in mind of value.

you guys need desperatly talented big mans. imho thats the reason why OKC has got a negative record. salamons would be a nice addition for sure but he is not solving the problems in OKC!

We need both but,
Green - Collison - Krstic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Weaver - Watson - Wilkins

What would you guys think of Watson + Smith + late first for Salmons+ Moore?

Can't recall Moore and Salmons' contracts off hand, but player-wise that definitely work for me. Moore would be a decent addition to our frontcourt (although probably not any closer to the long term solution than what we've already got).
Salmons could potentially be the long-term solution next to Westbrook in the backcourt. I'd give up 2 guys that aren't part of the mix down the road and a late first for that...

Moore expires after next season and I think he could be resigned on the cheap after that.

Moore only has a 2 million garuntee next season. Salmons has 3 years left on his deal at a little more than 5 million per. Salmons is a bargain.

We should do it in a heartbeat.

I think Salmons would be a good pickup but I can't imagine why the Kings would want to make a trade like this.

Yeah... I'm not really seeing the motivation for the deal on their side. I mean I guess it would be to bring in draft pick(s). But Salmons' contract is really pretty solid, he just doesn't seem like the guy that would be out...

Because he desperately wants out, they're trying to dump contracts and they want to give his minutes to Donta Green.

The Kings are lookng for expiring contracts back in the deal. They are also trying to ditch the mistake known as Beno Udrih's contract.

Yeah, I know most of the Kings fans have been calling for Beno's head... I guess the Salmons not wanting to be there thing is the reason they'd look at dealing him. If they're trying to cut salaries, a 5 mil/year starting guard seems like exactly the guy you'd want to be GETTING not giving up...

Salmons goes a long way to helping us. He can play the 2 and 3 is a gritt defender and can score - we haven't had a threat at the 2 since ray was traded

My offer: Kings deal Salmons/Beno for Watson/Smith

Beno's deal kind of sucks, but I would take it on to make this deal happen. Gotta have a backup PG anyways, right??

Weaver should be backup PG
I think the best deal is Smith/Watson for Salmons/Moore
They could then add in a 3rd team that needs a vet big in Smith and reap the benefits

The Kings have no interest in taking on Watson if Kenny Thomas/Beno is not being traded first.
