We were at least pretty competitive with the Lakers. If we somehow find a way to get through the couple of rough patches quicker, then we can be right with them down the stretch. Didn't really feel like, when watching the game, any one guy jumped off of the charts. So... for your consideration

I have to go with Weaver too.

For what he had to do defensively and what he chipped in offensively he had a solid game. If he can consistently chip in 10pts a game then do you really need a SG? I think more than anything this team just needs to mature.

Durant, Green, and Westbrook bring plenty of fire power. I'd hate to see someone come in and NEED touches to be effective. Weaver can be effective without the ball. All he has to do is hit the wide open jumper which he should get plenty of opportunity with the other three handling the rock. Teams need a Bruce Bowen or a Reggie Evans. Winning isn't always about scoring the ball, sometime you need a stop.

Plus I love the fact that Westbrook, Weaver, Durant and Green can all bring the ball up.

Last year before the draft I thought Weaver would have fit nicely next to Westbrook, now watching it, I like it even more.

It is pretty crazy though that Presti managed to get the two most recent Pac 10 defensive player of the year, in the same back court.

I think in some instance, the Thunder could have Weaver benefit by trading for a vet SG to show him the ropes to play better as a SG in the league. As a rookie, you can only learn so much by yourself. With someone else who has more experience than you, a rookie can learn a lot more and perhaps better themselves as a player.

Kyle Weaver, really liked how he played on both ends of the floor. Did not show a lot of confidence on his threes (hesitated a lot and thought about taking a wide open three for a few seconds before passing it up to Krstic for the post jumper), but it's an improvement that he's taking those shots.


KD with another great all around game, but I guess that's a normality these days.

Does it say anything about how badly this team needs a shooting guard when a rookie who goes 5/13 (1/7 from 3) is getting all of the votes for player of the game? I know a lot of his contributions weren't statistically recorded, but it just shows how much we want him to succeed I guess...

1-7 isn't so hot but he typically only takes a shot if it's a good look. He'll knock more of them down with time.

Yeah, all of his looks from 3 were definitely good ones. He probably could've stood to shoot about 3 more even. Hopefully he'll get into a rhythm and be able to knock those open ones down at least ~35% of the time.
