Oklahoma City heads into the All-Star break 13-40, a first-half review

The Thunder head into the All-Star break with a 13-40 record, exceeding many expectations. Oklahoma City is projected to finish with 22 wins. Thus far, the Thunder have seen more downs than ups, but with the Thunder developing younger talent and making the transition from another city, that’s to be expected. Earlier in the season, the Thunder fired PJ Carlesimo after a 1-12 start.

Being 12-28 since Carlesimo's fire is great, thanks to KD's explosion and Russell and Jeff's production. Collison's resurgence over the last few weeks has helped, although we should have 3 more wins if not for dumb decisions in the clutch. I honestly thought we would lose that Sacramento game in the Ford Center.

The Brooks-era record is even more impressive when you consider that it probably takes a few weeks for the coach and players to get used to each other. I might even argue that once the two found their rhythm, they are over .500... Nonetheless, I don't think there are many that would argue with the fact that the future looks MUCH brighter than the past or even present!

I would put the improvements (aside from coaching) as:
1) Durant
2a) Green
2b) Westbrook
4) Collison

As much as I like Green, you simply can't argue with Durant's improvement from solid scorer to nearly dominant offensive force. Green and Westbrook have exceeded expectations in their recent improvement. Collison has found his role from last year... he looked lost for the first couple of months under Carlisemo, but he's good to go now, putting in exactly what the team needs from him.
