Idea with Bucks

The consensus on Bucks board is they can't afford to keep CV, Session and the pick. As it stands right now they're at luxury tax treshold. They need to dump salary to keep one, maybe 2 of session/CV. Luke Ridnour seems the best bet as I dubt they can dump Gadzuric. They're seeking partially guaranteed contracts,no contracts would be even better.

I'm not sure how much under the cap Thunder is, but I guess they have some money left.

Take Luke back, he can play backup pg much better then Earl, get pick 10-15 for hm, I'm sure there's a second rounder lying around. Draft Derozan/Blair, depending on 1st pick.

Watson can stay, but I'm afraid Westbrook will play to much sg, or he can be dealt with SA 1st for position of need, if thee's any left.

My ideal lineup after the draft :D

Westbrook, Ridnour
Sefolosha, Weaver, DeRozan
Durant
Green, Monroe
Krstic, Collison

deep, very talented team

ps: i guess memphis and maybe even Detroit might have the same idea

So what is the deal you're proposing? Just Luke for cap space?

I think that the Sonics management probably made the choice that they were wanting to make when they traded Ridnour. He's a decent enough player, IMO, but not good enough to absorb his cap figure if you're under the cap...

Just my thoughts. I'm sure some of the pre-OKC fans would have much stronger feelings about Ridnour due to his previous tenure with the team...

luke and bucks' pick, that's the idea on their board.
They supposedly offered Luke and Joe for expirings. This is even better for them.

I'd do it
Luke and 1st for Atkins would be the deal I would want

I just don't know if Luke is worth 6.5 mil over two years... even with the 1st round pick to sweeten the deal. I always thought he was a pretty decent ball player, but that's a pretty big chunk of money that we could use to fill a pretty big gap in our current roster.

HMMMMMMM????

You know it's an interesting idea. I'd be open to it but the hard part would be convincing Luke to go for it.

I have a hard time thinking Luke would want to come rushing back to the franchise that got jacked from his childhood.

After all he did grow up in Blaine Washington just up the road on 1-5.

Awe man when hometown hero's go bad.

Edit: You know I do like the idea of extra picks and having an expiring contract season after season to be able to wheel and deal.

It would be 6.5 for just one year not two
and I love having expirings come deadline time

My bad... you're totally right... I was looking at it and saw 2 years, for some reason I was thinking it was 2 yrs left after this one. Obviously I was mistaken. In that case, yeah, I think absorbing it for one season isn't horrendous... still a good chunk of cap room we could spend bringing in a solid role player at center or shooting guard though.

I'm not really sure there will be a bigger need then backup pg, or combo guard.

Ther are better offguards then Thabo and Weaver, but the combo is looking promising atm, I'd add a high otential player with MIL pick, someone like DeRozan and you're set for next year.
I'm sure the first pick will be big, Thabeet, Monroe, Griffin etc. Add Green, Collison, Krstic and the frontcourt is taken
There's still that late pick to use on someonesolid.
The deal gives OKC 2 valuable and very solid 2010 expirings in Watson and Ridnour.
Is therev someome specific you'd target with the pick? I know there's noone that could help in longterm in FA as -boozer is a terrible fit, Turkoglu plays same position as Durant/Green, Milsap won't be available,

can we somehow get Bogut from Bucks?
I believe he is on a reasonable contract, lives his life in paint area, defensive force (kind of), 7ft tall

I really like Bogut, really, he'd be perfect here. Not a big user of possesions on the offensive end, great rebounder, great defender, not kinda, but very underrated, great intagibles for a big man. To much of an injury risk, sure, he never seems healthy. I doubt there's a chance he's available. Just maybe the financial situation for the Bucks is so bad, that they'd be willing to trade him for pick and salary relief. He's PPP and BYC after that though, is OKC enough under to even make it possible?

From a bucks fan would it be right to think you guys would be going after harden?
If you don't get harden, how about
Redd or Richard Jefferson for your late 1(via DEN)?
I'm guessing you'll probably take RJ, I think he'd be a great fit for your team to take the next step.
And you'd still have a ton of money to spend.(your payroll would be 55 mil)

I think we'll probably just take best player available. Different people on this board seem to like Griffin, Harden and Thabeet, but those are the 3 most frequently mentioned. Obviously, with all 3 playing different positions, it could drastically affect any other moves we make.

I don't really see Jefferson being a good fit at all... our two best players are already (arguably) best at small forward. Jefferson is another guy (to me) that is exclusively a three. I know that he can guard twos, but he just doesn't have the offensive game of a two, which will be really important playing next to Westbrook. Redd would be a good fit... but with his contract and coming off of the injury, I would guess that the Thunder would be even less willing to roll the dice on him than they were on Chandler.

its still low risk, high reward on redd. You can still get a big name FA this summer and next.
None of your key players are up for contracts till the summer of 012.

Redd brings NOTHING we need and everything we already have.

No thanks.

just looking at your depth chart, it looks like a black hole. No Offense
But taking on Redd who avg's 20 ppg, only for a late 1? Only has 2 years left, considering the salary is high, but it doesn't effect anything you do since your so far under the cap.

his salary would hinder us from picking up a player or players that fill actual needs

I think Redd's shooting ability would be valuable to the team. I'm just saying, management wouldn't take on Chandler's significantly smaller deal due to a significantly smaller injury than what Redd is going through. Just don't see them turning over a new leaf and taking a big risk after they weren't willing to roll the dice on a smaller one.

I think they'll stick to their plan of acquiring their cornerstones through the draft while making very intelligent minor moves like Thabo and Krstic.

Well I wouldnt say nothing. He is still one of the best shooters in the game, and with Durant on the opposite side of the court its only gonna help open up shots for both players. He is coming off an injury and its likely his best days are behind him. It definitely would help on the offensive end. However, it would only hinder more to this teams poor defense and obviously hurt in cap space
