Any interest in Bogut?
Does a healthy Bogut peak your interest? He currently has a bad back, and honestly that scare me to death, but say he makes a full recovery.
Is a healthy guy like Bogut worth the top five pick and say Earl Watson?
He can score, he rebounds, blocks a shot and is great at passing the ball.
I can see a guy like Bogut taking pressure off of Westbrook because he is one of the best passing bigs.
Westbrook, Green, Durant, and Bogut can all pass the ball pretty effectively just no one is John Stockton.
So yay? Nay?
What do you think?

So are you saying you'd rather have Thabeet over Bogut?

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
Don't think that the Bucks are wanting to see him leave, are they?
In any case... I think Bogut is pretty solid. He would bring everything that Krstic brings but better rebounding and passing. He would be a great upgrade and very helpful, but if we want to have Green and Durant starting long-term we need to have an interior defensive presence. He was pretty good in his 2nd year about playing with some fire on D, but this injury has put him on ice.

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
Sounds like Bogut has a fractured vertabrate but it should heal in about a month.
But according to Bucks fan they are really worried about losing Charlie Villanueva and Ramon Sessions, so they are pretty open to trading Bogut. Plus they are afraid of the luxury tax after re-signing those two.
So they are looking for cap relief and a pick.
Of course one guys wants Westbrook plus parts. I told him Westbrook and Thabeet>Bogut
I think if Bogut was offered up for OKC's first and Earl Watson I don't think Presti can pass that up even if it isn't a "perfect" fit.
I agree it would be great if he was a better defender but overall he is much better than anyone OKC currently has.

I really like Bogut, he's pretty good on D, is a dominant rebounder and knows how to score inside. He has a significant impact on the game. His low post game still has a lot of potential.

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
Bogut is really underrated. His D is very good, he was top 5 in rebounding rate till he went down, he's a solid inside scorer, great passer, very unselfish. he would be a perfect fit for this team, but I doubt there's any chance to get him without overpaying. Maybe Bucks would do a pick in 3-5 range for Bogut if OKC is deep enough under salary cap, but it's risky for both teams. If Bogut is completelly healthy it would be a great deal for OKC. Bucks might do it cause of financial concerns.

Yes I believe he is
I just am worried about the injury
Big men have trouble coming back from injuries that are related to major parts such as back and knees
I think the current condition of the Bucks franchise and the health concerns of Bogut would warrant a lower offer from Presti

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
Hi Guys, Im new here and I'm an outside OKC fan. I'm from LA but I hate the Lakers. Ive always followed the Sonics, Now since the move, I'm an OKC fan. OK, Bogut's contract is too long for the OKC to commit to. If OKC gets lucky in the Draft and moves up to the 2nd or 3rd pick I would draft Thabeet! If they stay or move down I would like to see Cole Aldrich declare so OKC could draft him. But really as of right now I am questioning Jeff Green's future with OKC! No doubt kid has game but its given that Durant is the franchise of the team, and i just dont see Jeff fitting well by his side. I would like to see OKC pick up a PF that could bang inside! Jeff is like an Al Harrington/Antawn Jamison, good player but not great role player. In the NBA a contending team needs Role players!

Welcome to the forum Durantist!
I definitely agree with your thoughts of Green (at PF) as a Jamison/Harrington type of player. He has a similar skill set from the power forward spot. One big difference I see in him, that could let him play full-time PF on a winning team (something Harrington and Jamison haven't really done frequently) is that he isn't a guy that needs shots. Jamison especially, I feel, needs the ball to be successful. Jeff does a lot of little things like moving without the ball and playing his role in the offense.
I do agree though, that drafting Thabeet is the way to go at this point. Green/Durant need a big interior presence next to them in order to succeed.

Well I do see Green as an extremely productive sixth man. Here's the thing, I'm afraid that Green might put up great numbers by the time his rookie contract is up...Im talking about 20, 8,and 5 stats! I just dont want OKC to invest so much money on just a Stat guy. Lets face it, the recipe to a ring is a team with "ROLE" players. A stacked "STAT" team could never get it done. One must pick a franchise player and build from there! You maybe wondering why only Green that im bashing on, and why not Westbrook? Well Westbrook's D showcases no weaknesses against 1s or the 2s of the league than what Green gives. Green has to box out the 4s....and thats tough! When KD n Green were out I knew that OKC would be better at the frontcourt scenario due to Nick Collison playing the 4. Numbers are numbers, and Jeff will no doubt put them up! But I want a PF that would put a body every position, every play, everytime on the court. U may think drafting a strong C will solve this solution (Thabeet) but Im sorry it wont! Lets say the Clipps or the Wizards land 1st pick... If I were Sam Prest"O" i would strongly consider shopping Green, OKC's pick and some expiring contracts for Blake n Kaman, or Blake n Haywood. If I had it my way, here is how OKC would look like for the next season:
1. Andre Miller via free agency (underrated game manager)
2. Thabo (OKC's Ariza, now lets hope that he could develop a J like him)
3. Kevin "SuperANT" Durant
4. Blake Griffen (He is NBA ready!)
5. Kaman (hopefully a healthy one)
6th man: Westbrook (would be free to play aggressive vs. second unit)
back up swing: Weaver
back up 4: Nick (dirty fouls will be on his mind coming off the bench)
back up 5: Nenad (perfect fit with Westbrook driving n kicking, picking n popping)

So are you suggesting if the Clips land the #1 overall pick a trade of Green/09 1st for Griffin and Kaman?
I wouldn't do that trade if I was LA

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
See to me Jeff Green reminds me a bit of "Big Game James" Worthy.
"Big Game James" never averaged more than 6.4 rebs for a season nor did he ever managed to average more than 1.0 block either, and I don't think anyone would say he was an inadequate PF. In fact the guy is in the Hall of Fame.
But he did have the luxury of playing next to Kareem who was a rebounding machine and a shot blocking maniac. Obviously Kareem could score too. Man just looking at that guys numbers are ridiculous. http://www.nba.com/historical/playerfil ... dul-jabbar
But back to my point, if you put a rebounding shot blocking center next to Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, Jeff Green should be just fine. And fills his role perfectly.

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
I see highly of Bogut and honestly believe that with the first round picks that we have, we will not be able to draft a guy that would reach bogut's level of play. Maybe expect Griffin.
I am just not so convinced that Thabeet is NBA ready. he needs years to develop, and as sonics fan I know how painful it feels just to waste a lottery pick on a 7-footer that always needs one more year to develop.
so to make it short and clear, I would definitely do a pick(s) + fillers for Bogut.

Re: Any interest in Bogut?
BernardC, I would think that the previously failed center experiments will definitely weigh very heavily on Presti and his guys before pulling the trigger on Thabeet. 3 is bad enough, but the embarrassment of having FOUR center busts, one of which a top 5 pick, over the course of just a few years would be ridiculous!

that's what i am saying.
if bogut/Kaman are cheap to be had, Presti better pull the trigger.

I agree, hopefully if he could get either one fairly cheap, I would want to go for it.

Bogut would be nice but I wouldn't want to trade one of our starters for him.
