I vote for extend. Only on a year by year basis of course. He did very well considering the situation he inherited and I would like to give him a chance to continue to improve the team next year.

I would want to evaluate who else is out there... I know the idea of Avery Johnson has been thrown around. Brooks has done a great job though, and I would definitely be content to see him as the coach all of next season.

I made this post for another thread but it works for this thread too.
I think Bill Laimbeer deserves a shot to coach in the NBA.
He knows what direction he wants to go.
He isn't afraid to throw his weight around.
and he isn't afraid to speak his mind.
And although he might not have been well like around the league when he was playing.
The guy knows how to coach.
In fact he has two of these WNBA trophies and one other finals appearance.
Bill also played a good chunk of his career for one of the best NBA coaches Chuck Daley.
See if you can find Chuck Daley in this picture.
Bill won two championships as a player has won two championships as a coach in the WNBA. After all people claim the WNBA is "more a team game".
The guy knows his hoops and isn't going to take crap from players. He deserves a shot and that comes from a guy who wasn't even a Pistons fan growing up.

I'd liked to see Laimbeer come in as an assistant for a season or two before he takes over a head coaching position.
Brooks has done a good job so far and I think he's earned an extension.

I would definitely keep Brooks above Laimbeer. Not really a big fan of his, and I'm fine with him continuing his career in the WNBA. There are very few coaches that I'd take over Brooks right now, and even less of them are available...

I think Brooks has exceeded everyone's expectations and deserves to coach next year. Just think how bad this team was at the beginning of the year... absolutely no rotation, let alone direction at all! The big test will be getting 30-35 wins out of this team next year... that's my next benchmark.
