Jamal Crawford

Post#1 » by gswhoop » Wed Jun 3, 2009 5:48 pm

Assuming you guys are picking up Hasheem with your 3rd pick.

Also assuming that jamal crawford opts out this year. I think he will be a perfect fit for your team. He is a veteran that can provide a lot of points. I know he is looking at a contender but with a lineup of

Westbrook
Crawford
Durant
Green
Thabeet

thats a pretty nasty lineup in about 2 years.

Would you be interested in signing him if he opts out. If he doesn't opt out would you be interested in trading him for your first round draft pick next year protected top 3 and the following year unprotected.

i like crawford, but i don't think he fits in the backcourt with westbrook. it'd be a pretty inefficient backcourt in terms of scoring.

i think the thunder are going to look for a more reliable perimeter guy (like ben gordon, for example) if they decide to pursue a SG in free agency.

i do not think they'll go for crawford in a trade.. there are better fits out there.

Crawford is talented, but he just falls into that category of solid guards that aren't capable of playing on a winning team to me. I say stay away. At best, this would be a quick fix that isn't necessarily the perfect fit.

The biggest question to me is how much is he going to cost?

I think he would fit just fine if the price is right.

But I have a feeling he is looking for a decent sized payday.

Yeah I think he will want alot. I would pay more to get Ben Gordon than to take Crawford.

He is currently due $9.4 million in 2009-10 and $10 million in 2010-11

if he opts out i think he wants something in the lines of 5 for 45. To secure him for the next 5 years. i think he is still in his prime so paying $9 million a year would be a good price. If we didnt have Monta I would be all for keeping him but theres no way that Jamal and Monta can coexist. Westbrook on the other hand seems like a smarter bball player with better defense. i think that with westbrook at 6'3-6'4 and jamal at 6'5-6'6 then that makes for a pretty big backcourt.

No. He often overhandles the ball, he's very turnover pron and his FG is so unstable, his defense is awful or I'd say he simply doesn't defense (I remember one game he got no foul in 60 minutes).

I addimit he is a very talented guy who barely reachs the allstar caliber, but I just don't see him playing winning basketball.

He is unlikely to opt out. GSW would trade, pretty much a deal that's a break-even. I don't really see a specific deal.

Say no to Crawford. Do not need a chucker. Ironically, need a James Harden type player. Although, him or Thabeet is a solid pick at 3.

I wouldn't mind having him if the price is right.

He's not going to opt out so it'll have to be a trade. He's not a Presti kind of guy, can't play D, he's a ball stopper, he's a chucker, has a low BBall IQ. Bad contract. Negative trade value. I'm a Knicks and Thunder fan I know all about Crawful.

I would be willing to take him and eat his contract in order to get Biedrins though.

Collison, Watson, Atkins (only 800,000 GT), #25
for
Crawfuls contract, Biedrins.

Nellie dumps the guy he doesn't want and the remaining 19 mill on his contract, Gets a backup PG and the #25

OKC eats 19 million in order to get Biedrins and sits Crawfuls worthless butt on the bench. But are set at the C position for the next 5 years.

Obviously...no chance. Crawford is just a 2 yr deal. Biedrins may be GSW's starting C for 12 more years. OKC can have Crawford and Davidson and a future rd 2 for Collison + Atkins. That's probably the best GSW will offer to do.

...and how is he a ballstopper yet had 4.4 asst? I was fine with his passing + shot selection but did not like his D.

A lot of guys would probably be considered "ball-stoppers" that have high assist numbers. When you keep the ball in your hands for too long like Crawford does, you're bound to accidentally pass it to someone eventually :)
