OKC/LAC/UTA/MIA Trade Idea

Post#1 » by SportsFan215 » Fri Jul 10, 2009 5:30 pm

I posted this idea on the trade board as well, but I want to see what you guys think.

Clippers Get: Green/Blount/Cook
Clippers Give: Kaman/Thornton

The Clippers get an upgrade at SF and a young backup SG, along with another 2010 expiring.

Jazz Get: Kaman
Jazz Give: Boozer

The Jazz have wanted this deal for a real center for a long time. If they also want to save money, they can do a separate deal with LAC for their TPE.

Heat Get: Boozer/Thornton/Weaver
Heat Give: Beasley/Blount/Cook

The Heat keep D-Wade happy by getting him a fellow all-star and olympian, along with a 16 PPG SF and a young backup PG. This will give the Heat a chance to move up into the discussion with the Magic, Cavs, and Celtics in the East.

Thunder Get: Beasley
Thunder Give: Green/Weaver

The Thunder pair up best friends Beasley and Durant, along with Harden and Westbrook who are all only 20 years old!!! Plus Beasley is more of a PF, while Green is more of a SF.

So just curious what is with you fascination with the Thunder trading Jeff Green?

Every trade you make that includes the Clippers and the thunder you have them trading Jeff green.

At this point in time the Thunder are not going to trade Jeff Green.

But I'm sure that won't stop you from post another LAC and OKC thread that has Jeff green ending up in LAC.

Go ask the Sixers if they will give you Thad Young.

beasley's the far more efficient player, his numbers suffered because miami was a better team and he was bad defensively. beasley's definitely better than green at this point.

No thnaks to this trade. People on this forum cry about Green playing out of position at the 4, but he is the same size as Beasley. Miami has a hard time figuring out where to play Beasely. Beasely is the better scorer. Green is the better defender. If we're trying to build a culture of defense, than Green is better for OKC than Beasely.

beasley is stronger than green and is four inches longer.

neither of them are good defenders on the interior.

I didn't get to watch Beasley much last season. Coming out of college, he sure was a beast. Besides maybe being an upgrade from Green (although I won't admit that because I just like Green more, hehe), I don't see what this does for us. The biggest problem we have with Green right now is that he nor Durant really supply much interior D against bigger PFs. Beasley has the same issue. So what do we fix by doing this? Beasley is a better rebounder (or at least was by a significant margin at the college level, probably would be in the NBA if given a larger role), so I guess that would help...

Jazz Get: Kaman
Jazz Give: Boozer
The reason the Jazz will move Boozer is to save some cash. The Jazz are set at center, and in fact they just sign Okur for an extension. They have the promising Fesenko as backup. Kaman is going to be an expensive back-up.

Heat Get: Boozer/Thornton/Weaver
Heat Give: Beasley/Blount/Cook
Miami will only package Beasley in a trade if its for someone like Bosh. It will be better for Miami to wait on Boozer next year if they want him. IMO, Boozer relationship with the Heat owners will persuade him to sign with the Heat next year. So I have this feeling, Boozer is the least we can have for our cap space next year. . . plus this trade will not let Wade sign an extension, I think Wade wants Bosh who he share the same agent. I have this feeling that they both decides to sign a shorter deal in 2006 to play together in the future. . . .So Heat says NO to your deal.

Thunder Get: Beasley
Thunder Give: Green/Weaver
Beasley is worth more than Green and Weaver.

I forget if I have asked this before, but would OKC do Green/lower 2010 first (either OKC or PHX) for Beasley/2010 Second?

This is the entire deal:

Clippers Get: Green/Blount/lower '10 First from OKC (either OKC or PHX)
Clippers Give: Kaman/Thornton/'10 Second

Jazz Get: Kaman
Jazz Give: Boozer

Heat Get: Boozer/Thornton
Heat Give: Beasley/Blount

Thunder Get: Beasley/'10 Second from LAC
Thunder Give: Green/lower '10 First (either OKC or PHX)

It pretty much has to be done if the Thunder want a more natural and more talented PF. I would have liked to see the Thunder just sign Milsap, but for anyone better Green is really the only guy (along with cap space) that MIGHT be able to get that improvement. I think in most cases it would be a sacrifice worth doing. But if they think they can get Amar'e or Bosh next summer, power to them!!!
