Is Marc Gasol obtainable?

Post#1 » by HomieOmey » Fri Aug 21, 2009 1:56 am

Great size, very underrated, great hands, and a solid enough rebounder. I like Horford just as much, probably more, but see him as being much harder to trade for. He could help give the Thunder a nice inside outside attack.

Gasol doesn't seem like the best fit next to Randolph, so I'm hoping he's somewhat obtainable. The only deal that I can really think of would be Kristic or Collison and Green for Jaric and Gasol. Would that be possible or even worth it?

Would be amazing if the Thunder could get Gasol while keeping Green. Wonder if they would be willing to trade that same package for just Kristic or Collison (+maybe a pick)??

I think the Grizzlies will hold onto Gasol until they have a good verdict on how good Thabeet will be. Right now Hasheem is a pretty huge question mark, which is something that they can't hang their hopes on. If he proves to be at least at the level of Gasol, then they'd potentially be looking for an offer for Marc. Right now though, they'll hold their cards.

wizkid27's said pretty much all that needs to be said. If Thabeet works out then Gasol will probably be available but until Thabeet proves that he belongs I see the Grizzlies hanging on to Gasol.

IMO, as a Grizz fan, I would do the Collinson/Kristic + Green for Gasol 2.0 and Jaric in a heartbeat

As a Wolves fan, my answer is simple. What can they get for Rudy Gay? If they can get solid value for him, this trade might make sense. Otherwise they are better off having too many C's than they are having too many F's.

agreed, pretty over the top. Love is good and all, but Gay and Gasol are both very solid guys on reasonable contracts... no way I'd touch that!

yeah I guess

but if I'm a memphis fan I'd rather have 1 potentially great player than 2 good ones. Maybe love's not that guy but they should still package gay and one of their centers imo

I do agree that Gasol and Gay for a true star player would be a very solid deal for the Grizz. I just don't see Love as THAT much better than either Gasol or Gay.

Memphis should keep Gay and trade Gasol for Love. The Gay-Love combo would be unstoppable. Don't you agree?

Can ppl get off the Love Train. He's not coming to the Grizz nor he's needed in Memphis. To trade Gasol for Love simply is asinine. Thabeet has a long way to prove himself and Haddadi has some ways to go as well b4 the Grizz can completely trust them well enough to trade off Marc.

Love is like an overrated David Lee who for some reason is talked about as though he has potential all star status. He'll be a good contributor for a team whether it's the Wolves or whateva. Until then, no Kevin Love to Memphis. Not happening.
